A look at what we've been working on lately at SG Restorations.

From commercial premises to family homes, we've been busy across the Central Coast with mould remediation, water damage restoration and subfloor projects.

One of our larger commercial jobs involved removing extensive mould and water-damaged contents from a retail premises in The Entrance.

In Gwandalan, we established full containment with HEPA air filtration before removing affected plasterboard and remediating concealed mould within wall cavities.

We've also undertaken extensive subfloor works in Bateau Bay, including the removal of contaminated soil and debris, cleaning of mould-affected timber and treatment of affected areas. Other recent projects have involved residential mould remediation in Umina Beach and the installation of mechanical subfloor ventilation systems to help manage ongoing moisture problems.

For projects requiring additional assessment, we work alongside independent occupational hygienists and laboratories for mould sampling, analysis and post-remediation verification.

There's often a lot more involved in proper mould remediation than what you can see on the surface, and every job brings different challenges.

Another successful remediation completed by SG Restorations

This roof cavity had significant contamination and poor air quality concerns. Our team safely removed all contaminated materials, carried out detailed HEPA cleaning and treatment works, and achieved approximately a 90% improvement in airborne spore levels following remediation.

The area has now been returned to a safe, sanitary condition and is ready for reinstatement.

Water damage behind walls is rarely isolated to what you can see.
For this office, we removed lower section of plasterboard around the full perimeter to properly expose any affected areas.

We installed containment to isolate the workspace, then carried out a full clean of all exposed cavities in line with IICRC standards — including HEPA vacuuming and detailed antimicrobial treatment.
This ensures any hidden contamination is properly addressed, not just covered over.

The area has now been left clean, controlled, and ready for reinstatement.

Hidden mould like this doesn’t just sit still — it spreads.

This job involved removing contaminated chipboard and timber from a cavity where moisture had allowed mould to take hold.

We set up airtight containment around the affected area, removed all contaminated materials, and fully dried the space. An air scrubber was running throughout to control and capture airborne particles.

The mould spread has now been properly eradicated, leaving the area clean, dry, and safe — ready for new materials to go back in.

Recently completed job — this one was a subfloor

The subfloor was holding moisture with mould build-up throughout and no real airflow underneath the house. Over time, that’s what leads to ongoing damp issues and mould problems inside.

We carried out a full subfloor clean and installed ventilation to get proper airflow moving through the space.

The after photos show a much drier, cleaner subfloor along with the new ventilation system in place — set up to control moisture long term, not just temporarily fix it.
