Volume 1 - 2011-2026 and Counting...

I've always said to people - "If the only thing you know about Clive Palmer is what you've seen in the Courier Mail - you know NOTHING about the man".

And its 100% true...

My security team and I have now worked closely with Mr Palmer since 2011 and after 15 years, I simply cannot speak more highly of the man.

He's definitely wired a bit differently to you and I, but that's what makes HIM a billionaire, and makes US his employees.

Sure, he can be ruthless, unforgiving, and cut-throat - but every successful businessman requires those traits. He sees things that most people miss, and he's EASILY the most generous man I've ever met. (Most of it is in secret - as he doesn't always chase the headlines!).

Think whatever you like, but until you know the actual guy that I've known for 15 years - I respectfully ask that you keep your opinion to yourself. Remember - there's two or three sides to EVERY story!

Here are some pics of the last 15 years - some on duty - most off duty - but all of them a wonderful experience! My team remain loyal to the man that has treated all of us so well for the last decade and a half!

I reckon this is a pretty “diverse” security pairing!

One male, one female.
One tall, one short.
One black, one white.
One soild, one thin.

Both are AWESOME guards with big smiles and an amazing work ethic! 👍 ❤️

A few years ago we looked after Cory Bernardi when he toured with his book - “The Conservative Revolution”.

Will be very interesting to see how he goes now he joined Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party!

Cory is very well educated, an excellent speaker, and a great guy! We wish him all the best!

The Little Ships Club - Straddies signature summer fundraiser is back! Join us at the Little Ship Club for the 2026 Arthur Mobsby Seafood Spectacular, a relaxed day of fresh local seafood, live entertainment and waterfront fun with family and friends.

This special event honours Arthur Mobsby’s contribution to our Club and boating community. Proceeds will support Stage 2 of our pontoon upgrades around the Club and on the water, helping keep LSC a place we’re all proud of.

To make the day a success, we’re looking for volunteers to help for a few hours. Roles may include:

• Can bar / prawn bar support
• Raffles
• Loading bar fridges
• Returning plates/cutlery to the bistro
• Marquees (set up / pack down)
• Collecting glasses
• General tidy-up and bins

We’ll look after volunteers with lunch, refreshments and a small bag of prawns to take home, plus a $25 Club voucher to use on another day.
