Portagrid are excited to announce that after working together with the Cazalys Group for over 5 years, their solar car park array structure project, including Electric Vehicle Charging Stations is now complete!.
Cazalys Group Cairns are considerably reducing their carbon footprint with this system which consists of a 637kW solar array providing shade to 199 carparks. The solar panels are bifacial which means they can harness energy from both sides, reflecting sunlight from the ground as well to maximise energy generation. The construction also includes four-bay electric vehicle charging spaces to satisfy the ever growing electric car consumer base.
Portagrid's owner and Managing Director, Jason Pyne says that there has been an enormous amount of work go into the design of the system to ensure it's not only functional but visually pleasing, practical and of course the energy saving benefits are considerable. The structure will save save Cazaly's approx 31% on their electricity costs, it will provide shade for the customers vehicles as well and provide customers with the ability to charge their electric vehicles.
This system is the first in it's size in Cairns and we are very proud to be part of such an iconic project!
