Separation can feel overwhelming, isolating and uncertain—especially when children are involved. This group was created to give both mothers and fathers a safe, respectful community where they can feel heard, supported and less alone.

This community brings together the complementary experience of Naomi Cao, a divorce coach and strategist who helps people navigate separation with clarity, confidence and practical direction, and Josh Zuker, who provides lived-experience-based support to parents facing separation, parenting disputes and the family law system. Together, our purpose is simple: to support parents, reduce conflict and help families move forward—one step at a time.

When people first connect with me, they are often overwhelmed, uncertain and unsure where to turn. For many clients, that support becomes an important part of their journey. It may involve helping them stay organised, preparing for an important appointment, working through communication challenges or simply being there when things feel particularly difficult.

Sometimes, what they need most in that moment is simply to feel heard.

My role is to provide a safe and supportive space where people can talk openly about what they are experiencing without judgment. I listen, help them make sense of what is happening and support them in identifying what they may need next.

Where professional assistance is needed, I can connect clients with trusted practitioners from my professional network. This may form part of their broader support or involve obtaining advice and assistance for a particular issue.

Many clients have already achieved positive outcomes with the support of professionals within my network. For others, their matters remain a work in progress—and that is okay. These situations can take time, and progress does not always happen as quickly or as smoothly as we would hope, and sometime, not at all.

Even when everything feels too difficult, you do not have to face it alone. We are there to help pick you back up, refocus on the next step and remind you that there is still reason to remain hopeful.

Together, we remain hopeful that you can rebuild and maintain a meaningful relationship with your children and have them actively involved in your life again.

My professional network includes practitioners across different areas who can often assist immediately or with minimal waiting time. This means clients can access the right support without feeling as though they must navigate everything alone.

There are moments in this work that remind me exactly why I do what I do.

Last week, I received an email that simply said:

"I can't wait a week."

I replied immediately:

"Can I have your phone number so I can call you?"

We spoke for over an hour.

At the end of the call, he said something I'll never forget.

"You saved me."

I asked him why.

He replied:
"Because no one wanted to listen to me."

Those words hit me hard.

I immediately connected him with a trusted family lawyer in Queensland. Together, we reassured him that we would stand beside him, guide him through the process, and help him take one step at a time.

A few days later, he went quiet.
Neither of us could reach him.
We spent hours calling and messaging because we were genuinely worried.

Eventually, a message came through:

"I'm OK. Thank you both for being there. No one else has."

On Friday, we appeared virtually with him in Court.

The outcome was incredibly positive.

At the end, we were laughing together.

Something that had once felt impossible suddenly felt achievable.

Before Court, I told him:

"Trust me. Trust my lawyer. We've both got your back."

He simply replied:
"I know."

That conversation reminded me of something important.
This has never been about the money.
Not for me.

And not for the lawyer who stood beside him.

- It's about the person.
- It's about answering the phone.
- It's about checking in when someone goes quiet.
- It's about reminding someone that they are not facing one of the hardest moments of their life alone.

They just need someone who will listen.

Sometimes, the person on the other end of the phone has no one else. They're carrying everything on their own, and they're simply grateful to have connected with someone who will listen. To be that person—to support them, help pick them up when they're struggling, keep them focused on the bigger picture, reassure them, and remind them that they don't have to face it alone—is something I never take for granted. Knowing they can reach out whenever they need support can make all the difference during an incredibly difficult chapter of their life.

To hear someone tell me that I've helped them is one of the greatest gifts I could ever receive, and it's something I am genuinely thankful for. It's not always easy hearing the stories people share. There are moments when I'm left not knowing exactly what to say because what they've experienced is so difficult. But what I do know is that for every person who connects with me, trusts the process, and leaves feeling even a little lighter or clearer than when they arrived—that is exactly why I do what I do.

Every day, I speak with fathers from across Australia who simply want to be heard.

They share their emotions, their fears, and most importantly, the love they have for their children. Together, we work through their situation, identify practical next steps, and create a pathway that gives them hope, clarity, and the confidence to keep moving forward.

One thing I've learned is this: many men carry their struggles in silence.

It's okay to talk. It's okay to ask for support. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, to cry, or to have moments where everything feels too much. Reaching out isn't a sign of weakness—it takes courage.

Family law can be incredibly challenging. There are times when you may be asked to attend supervised time, complete a Men's Behaviour Change Program, or participate in parenting courses. These experiences can feel confronting, but they do not define who you are or determine your future.

Keep your focus on what matters most—your children.

Every positive step you take today is an investment in the relationship you are building with them tomorrow.

A new chapter begins on Monday.

After 25 years in the travel industry, taking a leap of faith to establish Josh Zuker Consultancy has been one of the biggest decisions of my life. Since then, I've had the privilege of supporting dozens of clients and speaking with more than 100 parents from around Australia.

Now, I'm taking the next step.

From Monday, I officially commence my Undergraduate Certificate of Law at Swinburne University, with the goal of continuing into a Bachelor of Laws and ultimately practising as a Family Lawyer.

While I study over the coming years, Josh Zuker Consultancy will continue to grow alongside me. I'll remain committed to supporting parents throughout Australia, helping them navigate family law matters with practical guidance, lived experience, and access to trusted professionals.

I know the road ahead won't be easy, but I'm incredibly excited for what the future holds.

Every conversation matters. Every parent matters. Every child matters most of all.
