We are set for a sunny weekend here in Melbourne!

YES we are still in quarantine, but that doesn't mean we can't set ourselves up for a weekend of progress and all of our favourite feel good things.

- Nutrition on point (healthy treats included!)
- Maximise the hour a day to get moving outside
- A good book
- Zoom call with the family

😝 S E L F S A B O T A G E

We had a great discussion about the topic of self-sabotage last night in our challenge facebook group.

We can all easily identify areas where we might see the behaviours of self-sabotage, but our focus last night was practical solutions to break the habits that are standing between us and our personal goals!

One of the powerful strategies was to reduce the mental clutter that we may be experiencing. Whether it is a generally stressful time, you are managing working from home, home-schooling, the news, or simply this new 'normal' we have all had to adjust to, it can create mental 'clutter' without us even knowing it.

💯 Getting this mental clutter out of our heads and onto paper can help us identify what is actually important to focus on PLUS allow us to make more space and energy to prioritise these things.

When life throws you a rainy day, play in the puddles!

Utilise today to catch up on something that you have wanted to do at home... Some reading, something creative, some healthy cooking or a long stretch in front of the fire.

If we can appreciate the rainy days imagine how grateful we will be when the sun comes back out!

Let’s be honest, there is a LOT going on... and our habits may be challenges and slipping a little.⁣

Our Community have a heap of support coming your way in the coming days and weeks - But for now here are a few hacks to get back on track!⁣

😴 SLEEP - Get enough of it!⁣
⠀⠀⁣
This shouldn’t be too hard at the moment..!!? Sleep regulates appetite, blood sugar and improves insulin sensitivity. It is your major line of defence against sugar cravings!⠀⁣
⠀⁣
🥑 REGULAR “MINI-MEALS”⁣
⠀⠀⁣
If your hunger levels are unbearable, eat more (of the right choices!) Make sure you're eating regularly every 2-3 hours & include a quality protein source in each feed, which leads to..⠀⁣
⠀⁣
🍗 PROTEIN⁣
⠀⠀⁣
Aim for at least 20g protein per meal (eg. 100g chicken breast or rump steak, 120g white fish or 4 large eggs). Protein promotes satiety which will reduce cravings.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
🍩 QUIT THE SUGAR ⁣
⠀⠀⁣
It's addictive & NOT breaking the cycle makes cravings worse. ⁣
⠀⁣
💦 Hydration is also key. While at home set yourself up with a big water bottle and aim to refill it at least 2-3 time’s per day.⁣
⠀⁣

As Melbourne is facing an even harsher lockdown period. This is of course for the safety of ourselves, our loved ones and the wider community.⁣

I have felt a shift in the last couple of hours that I haven't felt since the start of the pandemic. ⁣

Here are my thoughts 💭⁣
❤️ Mental health support needs to be the topic of everyone's conversations throughout this period. Check up on your loved ones⁣
📝 Make a list of everything you would never have had time for if the world was back to normal. For me it's meditation⁣
🥦Keep your health in check ⁣
💡Start thinking of ways in which you could benefit from this time [chat to me if you're wanting to start your own side hustle 😉]⁣

𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧…⁣

If there is one thing that I have learnt while going on this journey of health, it is that my morning rituals are what sets up my day. A morning routine creates consistency, consistency leads to good habits, habits + consistency leads to results. ⁣

I am certainly not perfect (isolation has tested all of us!), but I know if I focus on getting my basic 1-2 rituals happening, I can take on the day & give it my best.⁣

After an emotional day yesterday I’m happy to see my dad finally retiring after working hard for 43 years it’s very well deserved break he needed 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I’m excited to be continued to open the doors at shop 2/31 Brantome st Gisborne after being in our family for 30 years as the new healthy smoothie bar Better You Nutrition this is the start of something new, I can’t wat to see everyone’s beautiful smiling faces and shine in this incredible community 😁

Let's get a little spicy/reflective as we start a fresh week. ⁣
