Jim’s Test and Tag conference 2026 done and dusted ✅

I presented to the group mainly about social media, the changes in search and also how they can be using AI in their day to day.

If I didn’t have Claude Design and Claude for these, I wouldn’t be able to do the these talks.

I have done a bunch this year and it’s only possible due to Claude.

It was an honour to speak at the Jim's Cleaning Group’s AGM about social media, AI and other trends.

I’ve known Olmez and Hussein for a number of years, so being invited to talk with their network about AI, content and the opportunities ahead meant a lot.

They have also featured in our Jim's content a lot over the years and have always supported the initiatives.

What stood out most was the environment they’ve built.

The team is aligned.

Everyone understands where the business is going, and there’s a genuine sense that they’re working towards the same goal.

That’s not easy to create inside a growing franchise network with a large group of Franchisors.

Jim's Cleaning Group is heading towards 2,000 franchisees, and after spending time with the team, I wouldn’t be surprised if they reach that milestone sooner than expected.

Thank you to Ali, Haydar and everyone at Jim's Cleaning Group for having me.

I’m looking forward to watching the next stage of their growth.

It will be well deserved.

Google reviews are one of the best ways to grow a local service business without paying for every click.

Google Ads and Meta Ads are getting more expensive and more competitive. Reviews help your Google Business Profile stand out, give potential customers confidence and provide the trust signals Google and AI search tools look for when recommending a business.

Don’t overcomplicate it. Ask personally, send them the direct Google review link and make it easy.

More genuine reviews. More local trust. More chance of being found.

Save this and send it to someone running a local business.

167 Jim's Pool Care franchise owners. A head office of three.

That's Jim's Pool Care. Blair his wife Kelli, and his daughter Skylar.

Twelve regional franchisors handle the ground.

Most people hear that ratio and assume something is about to snap. Nothing snaps.

Brett builds systems around the handful of things that move the division and ignores the noise.

No bloat. No committee. He'll get to 200 pretty soon, and I'd back that in.

Spent the week at their franchisee and franchisor conference. A few things stood out.

→ Watched Clemett facilitate and keynote for the conference.

Watching someone control a room at that level is humbling.

You walk out knowing exactly where your own presenting sits.

Couldn't recommend her enough if you need someone for your conference.

→ Caught up with Walford from Franchise Buyer. Next FranFeast episode is locked in.

→ Charles knocked out a huge run of interviews with franchisees. Enough footage to carry Pool Care for the next 12 months.

→ Good to see Pollack, the Aussie Pool Guy. Biggest TikTok account in Jim's Group at more than 240,000 followers.

→ Great to chat one on one with many franchisees and franchisors who I have met throughout training over the year.

→ The division has an exceptional culture amongst it's franchise owners, everyone supports each other.

Presenting at these events is a lot of prep. I still say yes every time.

But the part that sticks with me is the franchisees who walk up and tell you about their Jim's content journey and process.

They watched the videos, mainly the podcasts.

Got the confidence. Signed up.

Haven't looked back since.

That library becomes the trust base before anyone fills in a form.

It is the cheapest recruitment asset a division will ever own.

PS: Three people running 167 franchisees. Worth asking what your head office needs versus what it has?

Did a session at the FCA AI workshop on building your own AI brain.

15 minutes. No live demo, because I never trust venue wifi.

The title was Stop Starting From Zero, and that is the whole problem in one line. Most people open a fresh chat every single time and re-explain their business from scratch. Every day. Forever.

The fix is boring. Markdown files. A folder structure. Write down the things about your business you keep having to repeat, and stop repeating them.

But the thing that stuck with me was what came up when we talked about tools.

Almost everyone in the room is using ChatGPT or Claude.

Barely anyone is using Copilot.

Which is strange when you think about it.

Copilot is already sitting inside Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel. It is the one AI tool most of these businesses are already paying for.

It came with the licence.

And the numbers back up the room.

Microsoft has around 20 million paid Copilot seats against more than 450 million commercial Microsoft 365 users.

Of the seats that are paid for, industry estimates put weekly usage at 20 to 30 percent.

So most of it sits there unopened.

Meanwhile, people are paying separately, out of their own pocket half the time, for a tool that lives in a browser tab.

I do not think that is a Microsoft problem. I think it is a habit problem.

People do not adopt the tool that is closest.

They adopt the tool they had a good first experience with.

That is it. That is the whole mechanism.

Same reason the AI brain works. It is not the smartest system.

It is the one that means you never have to explain yourself twice.
