The Department of Home Affairs has announced that all eligible temporary visa applicants in Australia will not anymore be required to take medical examinations and chest x-rays in most cases, except the following:

1. Have applied for a medical treatment, temporary protection or a provisional visa
2. Expect to incur medical costs or require medical treatment
3. Intend to work as (or study to be) a doctor, dentist, nurse or paramedic
4. Will enter a hospital, aged or disability care facility (if higher tuberculosis risk)
5. Pregnant and intending to have the baby in Australia
6. Will work or train at an Australian childcare center
7. Aged over 75 years (if applying for a visitor visa)
8. Had previous household contact with tuberculosis or
9. Are requested to do so by the Department.

Applicants must fill-out their forms genuinely otherwise, their visa will be cancelled.

To fill the workforce shortages in Australia, the government granted student visa holders a temporary relaxation of working hours for more than 40 hours fortnightly as well as work even before the intake date. However, they will then lift the work right back to its normal working hours or a total of 40 hours per fortnight.

The unrestricted working hours will be continued until June 30, 2023, as students, regardless of the arrival are expected to focus more on their studies and attain a quality education.

"Important announcement from the floor of the Jobs and Skills Summit – we will increase by two years post study work rights for international students who graduate from Australian universities in areas of verified skills shortage." The Australian Minister of Education, Jason Clare MP tweeted.

Holders of certain degrees with skilled shortages will be granted with an extended post-study work rights.

✔️Selected bachelor's degrees will have 4 years post-study permit.
✔️Selected master's degrees will have 5 years post-study permit.
✔️Selected PhDs will have 6 years post-study permit.

This is to extend their [international students] stay to utilize and strengthen the skills they gained, and fill the current skill shortages the country has.

This is still to advise the Department of Home Affairs on 28 October 2022 by a working group and the courses are yet to be announced.

Hoovering or vacuuming in Victoria can be unlawful. According to the Environment Protection (Residential Noise) 2008 Regulations, "unreasonable noise" emitted from a vacuum is prohibited, especially within residential areas. Therefore, everyone in Victoria must wait to clean their floors until the clock strikes at 7 am–10 pm during weekdays, and 9 am–10 pm during weekends and holidays.

Sounds weird, but try not to get in trouble. 😉
