How much more could your business make - without you working any more hours?

That's the question behind my FREE 5-WEEK HOURLY RATE CHALLENGE.

Over five weeks, you'll look more critically at where your time and money are actually going - and where profit could be quietly slipping through the cracks.

We'll look at your: TIME. MONEY. CASHFLOW. CUSTOMERS. LEADERSHIP.

Nothing complicated. No huge course to get through.

Just one short, practical challenge each week designed to help you make a real improvement in your business.

Think of it as taking your business to the gym for five weeks.
A few targeted workouts. Some things might hurt a little. 😄
But hopefully a noticeably healthier business at the end.

And, IT'S COMPLETELY FREE.

I'll put the link to join in the first comment.

A great day at the Frankston Business Chamber Business Festival.

More than 400 people registered, a fantastic energy in the room and such a diverse mix of businesses from across our local community.

For me, the best part was the conversations. So many interesting people, businesses and stories - these selfies capture just a few of them.

Days like this are a good reminder of just how vibrant our local business community is.

Thanks to the Frankston Business Chamber for bringing everyone together and making the day happen.

It’s very easy to get so busy growing a business that, somewhere along the way, you stop asking: Are we actually building the business we set out to build?

That was a big part of the conversation I got to be involved in on Friday afternoon.

A team of leaders had taken themselves off to Bali for a few days - a working retreat to properly step away from the day-to-day and look at their business together.

They’ve achieved a lot in a relatively short time. But like most growing businesses, there are always customers to look after, people to manage, problems to solve and decisions to make. The immediate stuff has a habit of winning.

So, while they were sitting around a table in Bali, I joined them via Zoom and we spent the afternoon looking further ahead.

What do we actually want this business to become over the next three, five and even ten years? What do we want to be known for? How big do we want it to be? And how do we need to work together as a Leadership Team to get it there?

There were lots of ideas around the table. But once we really got into it, there was much more alignment about the future than they perhaps initially realised.

From there, we brought it back to the next 12 months - what needs to happen, and what targets will tell us we’re making progress.

Because ambitious goals are great. But they don’t become reality just because everyone agrees with them.

At some point, you have to decide what matters now - breaking the bigger goals down into 90-day priorities and giving the few things that will actually move the business forward some proper focus.

I loved being part of this one.

There’s something pretty special about a business that has already created something successful, but is prepared to step out of the doing and ask:
What are we really trying to build from here?

Not a bad way to spend a Friday afternoon - even if they were in Bali and I wasn’t.

One measure of business success is being able to step away without everything stopping. How are you making this work in your business?

I found myself with some unexpected space in my calendar this week.

The old me would have immediately filled it....Admin. Catching up. Getting ahead. Finding something else that needed to be done.

Instead, I took the day off and went to a day spa….hot tub, sauna and a massage…nice!

And I’m getting much better at doing that without feeling like I SHOULD be working.

One of the reasons I wanted my own business was to have more choice over how I spend my time. Yet it’s surprisingly easy to create a business and then expect yourself to work harder than any boss ever did.

I’m learning that success doesn’t have to mean constantly working.

A good business should be able to keep moving while you step away from it. And sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself AND your business is come back rested, with more energy and a clearer head.

So that’s what I did this week.
And it was great :)
