🇦🇺 Planning your skilled migration journey to Victoria? Make sure you know the costs.

Victoria’s 2026–27 Skilled Visa Nomination Program introduces fees at two stages:

📄 $60 + GST — Registration of Interest (ROI)
📋 $180 + GST — Subclass 190 or 491 nomination application

These are separate fees, and the nomination application fee is payable only if you’re invited to apply and submit your nomination application.

Before taking your next step, understand the process, review the requirements, and plan accordingly.

🇦🇺 Skilled professionals, your next step towards Australia starts with preparation!

The next Subclass 189 Skilled Independent visa invitation round is scheduled for 15 October 2026.

As a points-tested visa pathway, your points score and the accuracy of your Expression of Interest (EOI) matter. Before the round, take a moment to:

✔️ Review your points score
✔️ Check your occupation and personal details
✔️ Ensure your EOI is accurate and up to date

Remember: Meeting the minimum points threshold does not guarantee an invitation. Invitations depend on the applicable selection criteria and available places.

Before you lodge, don't just ask:
“Have I filled in the form?”

Ask:
“Have I supported my application with the evidence it requires?”

The exact documents depend on the visa and your circumstances.

Preparation matters.

🚨 A change worth understanding if you're planning a skilled visa pathway.

Australia's current skilled visa processing framework considers both occupation and applicant location when determining processing priority.

The framework places law enforcement and defence interests at the highest priority, followed by construction, healthcare and teaching for applicants in Australia.

But remember:

Priority is about processing order — it is not a guarantee of visa approval.

Save this carousel and check how the current framework applies to your pathway.

General information only. Individual eligibility and visa requirements apply.

🎓 THINKING ABOUT CHANGING YOUR COURSE OR EDUCATION PROVIDER?

The rules around changing courses and education providers in Australia have changed.

For certain international students, the previous 6-month restriction has temporarily changed to 12 months during the specified transition period.

That means changing providers isn’t something students should treat as a simple switch.

If you’re already studying in Australia, understand when you can transfer, what restrictions apply, and whether your circumstances are affected before making a change.

📌 Planning to change your course or provider? Check the current requirements first.

🚨 AUSTRALIA VISA UPDATE

Planning to apply for an Australian Student visa?

New rules affect certain temporary visa holders who are in Australia and want to apply for a Student visa.

Under the new framework, eligible applicants holding specified visas may need to apply for their Student visa from outside Australia.

If you’re currently in Australia and considering a transition to a Student visa, it’s important to understand how the changes may affect your situation before making your next move.

Seeing your occupation in a priority category can be encouraging — but don't confuse processing priority with a guaranteed processing timeframe.

Applications can still take different amounts of time depending on factors including completeness, complexity and application volumes.

Priority tells you where your application sits in the order. It doesn't promise a decision date.

Save this distinction. 📌

General information only. Processing times vary and individual circumstances apply.

The cheapest option isn't always the most affordable. Migration decisions can have long-term consequences, which is why getting the right advice from the start matters.

Invest in the right guidance—not the cost of correcting avoidable mistakes.

📊 Let's replace migration rumours with actual numbers.

The Department of Home Affairs' temporary resident skilled report shows the leading nominated occupations for primary applications granted in 2025–26 up to 31 December 2025.

Chef, Resident Medical Officer and Motor Mechanic were among the leading occupations, while Personal Care Assistant, Child Care Worker and ICT Business Analyst also appeared in the top 15.

But remember:

High numbers ≠ guaranteed pathway.

Data can show trends. It cannot determine individual eligibility.
