So we are well and truely into the lamb marking season now.
It’s so good to see plenty of feed, ewes in great condition, and strong healthy lambs!
Just a reminder for those who haven’t marked their lambs yet:

Have you ordered your tags?
We use and recommend Shearwell tags, as they are slim line, and the best to use. I also find that they don’t get caught and tear out as much as other brands.

Please don’t delay in booking in your contractor. The lambs are growing really quickly this year, which is great news, unless you’re the lamb catcher 😉

Have you thought about pain relief?
I believe that Trisolfen is a great product, and is unmatched for the treatment of the wound. There are also other forms for pain relief that can work effectively in conjunction with Trisolfen, for the rest of the body. This helps with mothering up, and keeps the lamb comfortable whilst healing, that translates into a happier, healthier, heavier lamb.

With the compulsory use of EID tags now being a thing, just a reminder that we do offer a lamb weighing option at marking. This process means that we can scan the lambs tag, and assign a weight, which means that at weaning, you can calculate your average daily weight gains to identify your faster growing animals. We can also assign the s*x of the animal, breeding group, sire, or any other mob relevant information that you would like to record. Feel free to get in touch for more info.
