This 1980’s classic with great bones was in desperate need of modernisation to suit a growing family.

Do you notice a common theme with what we have already shown you on our socials?

Impact Design Consultants have helped many families to improve their living requirements, make their home more functional and the most important, an enjoyable place to live.

This project in Park Orchards was a collaboration with the owner, we worked through a tried and trusted process to ensure we were able to deliver an end product that is truly outstanding. From new bedrooms and easy accessed bathrooms to new living areas to take in the views across the site. We did not stop there! We provided an outdoor entertainment area with all the mod-cons and complimented this with a pool and pool house making indoor-outdoor living one of the major features of this house.

Enjoy the photos!

We recently completed an extensive extension and renovation in one of Mitcham’s most sought-after pockets.

This project reimagined a traditional weatherboard home into a contemporary, functional space tailored for a young family and a home-based business.

Key Features:
• Bold architectural lines and standout materials.
• Light-filled living spaces with northern views.
• Seamless indoor-outdoor flow for year-round entertaining.
• A design that balances lifestyle and productivity.

This home now reflects modern living at its best—where thoughtful design meets everyday functionality.

Thinking about renovating? Let’s talk.

Extension & Renovation - Camberwell

We recently had the pleasure of modernising a charming two-storey weatherboard home, bringing it into the 21st century while staying true to the clients’ vision for a more functional and lifestyle-focused space.

The renovation focused on creating a luxurious master suite with a new ensuite and walk-in robe, a dedicated family laundry, a walk-in pantry, and a beautifully upgraded kitchen. Bathrooms were also extended and refreshed to enhance everyday comfort.

But the transformation didn’t stop indoors. We designed a seamless connection to the outdoors with a roofed alfresco area perfect for summer evenings, complemented by a stunning swimming pool, sunken fire pit, pool house, and a playful outdoor space for the kids.

A huge thank you to our collaborators:
External Affairs – Landscape Design
Apex Pools & Mark Rolton – Pool Build & Landscaping

Special thanks goes out to one of our preferred builders Josh from JKS Building for his exceptional building work and attention to detail and Antoinette from Loft Design for her amazing work with the interior design.

The result? A home that’s not only modern and functional but also a true reflection of the clients’ lifestyle and aspirations.

At the heart of every project—big or small—is the opportunity to make a genuine difference.

Sometimes, it’s not just about delivering drawings or securing permits; it’s about guiding clients through unfamiliar territory with care, clarity, and professionalism. This recent testimonial from a client who faced a challenging situation reminds us why we do what we do.

Despite the project’s modest scale, the impact was significant, and the gratitude expressed speaks volumes about the dedication of our team.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for the care, diligence and professionalism I received throughout this challenging process.

Whilst obviously overwhelming at times, being included in the process at least enabled me to feel somewhat comforted that I had a great team doing their best.

A huge shout out to you all. We got there in the end.”

Building Industry Update

From the 1st of July, 2025 the existing Victorian Building Commission has been rebranded and consolidated their powers to provide a better and more regulated Building Industry service.

New Regulatory Body

- It consolidates the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution

Victoria Licensing & Registration
- Builders, plumbers, and other practitioners will have their existing registrations automatically transitioned - No action is needed until renewal is due.

Domestic Building Insurance
- DBI is now managed by the BPC. Builders must ensure they are eligible and properly insured before - Insurance applications and eligibility checks are now centralized through the BPC.

Dispute Resolution
- The BPC offers a free dispute resolution service to help resolve domestic building issues before they - This service was previously managed by DBDRV and is now part of the BPC.

Online Services
- While the transition is ongoing, services are still accessed via the VBA website.
- Systems like VBA360, eToolbox, and BuildVic have resumed normal operations after a brief outage

Contact & Support
