FUNDRAISING UPDATE 💰

Here at NRCE we aim to host fun crafty events and workshops that allow members of the public to connect and explore their creativity. We are working towards connecting our network of crafting communities located all over the Northern Rivers to create a community.

A community where people feel safe and included to create, share and develop their creativity through crafts to the world.

At this years fibre festival the energy the community brought to the event was exactly that. You embraced the festival, the vendors, the volunteers and community groups that attended over the weekend and we couldn't be more proud.

Thanks to everyone who kindly dropped a donation in the jar upon entry, we were able to raise approx, $630 for the Mullumbimby CWA. Also the kindness and generosity of the community that supported the CWA through purchasing food and drinks from the canteen at the festival, they now have the funds to install security cameras for their clubhouse.

We are so thankful to Sue and all of the amazing ladies that volunteered their time at the festival. We hope these funds help towards you continuing all the amazing work you do across the community.

📣Applications are now open for workshop facilitators and Vendors. 📣

This year we received feedback from the community to please add workshops to the festival for 2027… so we listened.

In 2027 we have 4 dedicated workshop spaces. Bringing the community together, to connect and learn new skills, we are now looking for fibre craft or sewing facilitators to utilise these spaces.

We welcome applications for all skill levels and crafts.

If hosting or attending a workshop is not your thing, we also have the opportunity for guest speakers to share information or provide demonstrations on our main stage throughout the weekend.

All applications are now open via our website

What kind of workshops and demonstrations are you most excited to see? Let us know in the comments.

Hello crafty friends 👋

Are you ready to hear about our plans for year ahead…

It’s been a hectic end eventful few months since we hosted the Northern Rivers Fibre Festival and we are gearing up to do it again next year 🎉

We had a fantastic response from our community and we have been busy planning next years festival to ensure we deliver a more engaging and exciting event for our region.

Stay tuned as we reveal more details but for now here’s an update on what is happening at NRCE HQ

1. We’re building our new website. We are creating a community resource for craft events in the northern rivers to connect our communities together and share craft related information.

2. Fibre festival planning is in full swing. We are starting to re-book last year’s vendors in for our new venue with vendor applications opening up to the public next weekend.

3. Workshops. You asked for it so we have added workshops to the festival planning for 2027. We also have other workshop and social event opportunities planned for 2027.

So who’s started saving for next years festival already 🙋🏻‍♀️

Drumroll please 🥁

The moment you've all be waiting for ..... The Northern Rivers Fibre Festival is returning for 2027. Join us from the 4th - 6th June 2027 for a weekend of fun, fibre and all round crafting community vibes.

This year we have a new venue that is bigger to allow for more vendors (this was the feedback from the community), and space to host workshops (also feedback from the community).

We are currently finalising the booking for the venue and will announce the new location very soon. The best part is you are able to experience another great Village community within the Northern Rivers and support many more local and interstate businesses over the 3 day event.

We know this event was fantastic, however we want to improve on the experience for next year and we need your help. Please complete the survey and tell us what you think we did well and what we can do better for next year.

Thank you again to everyone who supported this event, our vendors were so excited to meet you and share some fibre crafty goodness.
