For all of our sustainable futures we must, as businesses and individuals alike, strive for quadruple bottom line results.
In saying that, it is a process and one that when followed, diligently and thoroughly, in order and with purpose, can bring extraordinary results that will move the company forward, hold it in good stead and will be an excellent foundation for its future success in both the short and long term.
The key to maintaining a sustainable process is to ensure the engagement of the team, to have them take ownership. It takes vision and leadership to effect attitudinal change and this type of change must be led from those that can ‘walk the talk’ and make it their own both in and outside of business hours!
Let’s highlight the 7P’s; the interweave of which, creates sustainable change.
• People – care of fair work, fair pay, fairly housed, food-a-plenty
• Place – connection to place: happy, motivated, purposeful – life engaged – social responsibility
• Planet – clean, green and bio-diversified
• Product – sustainable + life-cycle considered
• Procurement – local, sustainably produced product (above)
• Process – Continuous improvement of the 5-capitals framework as a pattern for daily implementation
• Profit – Company + Community
