• Maximise Minimise’s (MM) weekly tip to get organised:

Sick of your house being overrun with your kids toys? Limit the number of toys they have available at any one time – have some out and put the rest away in a cupboard, rotate the toys every two to three months or so, less toys means less mess. Then sort the remaining toys into different categories, soft toys, cars, trains, dolls and doll accessories etc. Put the grouped toy items into big coloured plastic tubs and label the tubs with a picture of what toys go inside what tubs. That way when you ask your kids to clean up, they know which toys go where.

• Maximise Minimise’s (MM) weekly tip to get organised:

Whether you’re a busy mum with one child or four, set up a monthly calendar on your fridge or somewhere that is visible for you and your children. That way you can write down the entire families' activities for the month, including, birthday parties, dinners out, date night and sporting activities. Everyone in the family can see who has what and where they have to be at what time and what day. Yes it requires a bit of time and organisation at the beginning of the month, but MM guarantee’s it will help you stay sane, organised and save time in the long run. Simple but effective!

• Maximise Minimise’s (MM) weekly tip to get organised:

Are you overwhelmed or inundated with your kids’ birthday party invites? MM suggests sticking the invites on the fridge and writing down the date you have rsvpied on the invitations – that way you will know which parties you have rsvpied to and which ones you haven’t.

Look what I found on the side of the road this morning, someone's old printer that is going to end up in landfill! I see this too often. Just because something is old, broken, or you have no use for it anymore doesn't mean it needs to end up in landfill. E-waste I tell you! There are plenty of places that recycle your old electronic goods, including your local council. Just google e-waste recycling and see what you find. A little bit of effort in the short term will mean a cleaner environment in the long term! Send me a message if you would like to know more
about e-waste and where to recycle anything lying around in your house you may be unsure about. I've found most things can be recycled!

My friends built this Christmas tree with their kids over the weekend. It is made of 100% recyclable materials. Way to be innovative and environmentally friendly at a time of year when it is all about consuming more!

My last decluttering tip for the end of NOW (National Organising Week):

5. NOW you've decluttered your home and you have your 3 piles of 'stuff':
To keep,
To throw away
To give away

What to do with it all?

Well put back in your cupboards and draws your 'stuff' to keep, organised and now with more space in your home.

Throw away anything that is damaged or broken

And lastly the give away pile:
Vinnies
Salvos
Sell your stuff on eBay or gumtree and make some money!

Also check out freecycle, ziilch and ozrecycle so other people can reuse what you no longer want or will use.

Remember reduce, reuse and recycle your things!

If decluttering and organising your things seems all too overwhelming at this point, give the experts a call at maximise minimise 0452632005 or visit our website www.maximisemininise.com.au

We would be more than happy to help you with your decluttering and organising needs!
