🌏 🧩 BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT ISN’T JUST ABOUT THE PARTICIPANT
Using Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, we understand that a person doesn’t exist in isolation. Every individual is influenced by the people, environments, systems, and communities around them. 🤝
One of the biggest misconceptions about being a Behaviour Support Practitioner is that our role is only to support the participant.
The reality is that we spend just as much time supporting the people around them. 💙
👨👩👧 Parents and family members who are often exhausted and searching for answers.
🧒 Siblings who are impacted by behaviours and family stress.
👩🏫 Teachers and school staff who need practical strategies to support learning and regulation.
🩺 Allied health professionals who are working towards the same goals.
🚑 Emergency services responding during times of crisis.
👮 Police and law enforcement who need to understand disability, trauma, and behaviour.
🏢 Residential services, support workers, and carers who provide day-to-day support.
🔒 Correctional facilities supporting individuals with complex behavioural and mental health needs.
Our role is to help people understand the function behind behaviour, identify triggers, recognise early warning signs, and develop practical strategies that actually work. 🧠
We help reduce stress, improve confidence, strengthen relationships, and create environments where people feel safe, supported, and understood. 🌱
Because behaviour doesn’t occur in a vacuum.
When we support the entire ecosystem around a person, we create the greatest opportunity for meaningful and lasting change. 🌏💙
Behaviour support isn’t about controlling behaviour.
It’s about understanding people. 🤝
