Breakfast in bed, getting the good bits before the other two ringtail joeys get up.

Hannah arrived in care Friday night, a tiny 344g female pademelon joey. Her mum had died of an unknown cause and she had crawled out of her pouch. Swept up by the property owners, they kept her warm while waiting for some help to get her to a carer. She is already an expert with her feeds.

Remember if you find any injured or orphaned wildlife to call Bonorong on 0447264625 here in Tasmania.

A pile of teats packed ready to send out. Big shoutout to a lovely Queensland lady who sent us a donation that will allow teats to be given to some of Tasmania’s registered wildlife carers who are doing it tough at the moment. Thanks also to our Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC) Tasmanian team who are helping to get some deliver too. Thank you from all of us.

Jade and Ruby update. Both Brushtail possum joey girls are now buddied up and over 500gm. Ruby is still reluctant to give up her bottle for a lapping bowl but we have daily practice at it. They have become the best of friends.

We have been making some tweaks to one of our products and currently out for testing. This is the silicone cap. We have added a fl**ge to make it easier to put and take off.

Aw thanks, I am so glad we could help.

Aw thanks, I am so glad we could help.

We wanted to send a huge thank you and shoutout to Wildlife Teats Tas!🐾
They're a small Tasmanian business designing specialised teats for native wildlife, AND kittens!
We purchase their teats each kitten season, but sometimes we get difficult feeders who just do not want to use the teats... Kate and Randall have been so amazing and helpful with making a custom batch for us with an adjusted silicone thickness, and the results have been a resounding success with our trickier kitties!

If you're involved in wildlife or kitten rescue, we can't recommend them highly enough!
Thank you so much Wildlife Teats Tas!

Almost 6 weeks ago, Ruby, the brushtail possum joey, was found at the bottom of a tree. It was the day after it was heavily pruned, she was wrapped up in the leaves. It was a miracle she was found, that she had not been stepped on by the arborist and she even survived the night.

Cold and dehydrated, she was sent to Kingston Animal Hospital where the wildlife team there warmed her and gave her sub cut fluids. With her soon to be buddy Jade she spent the next couple of weeks down my top 24/7. I want to give a big shoutout to the staff at Kingston Animal Hospital for making her survival possible. Her recovery has been slow but she has had a great appetite all the way through.

Here are 4 of the 6 kittens rescued 2 days ago. A young lady was in a laneway of an outer Hobart town and heard kittens crying. The sound was coming from a Woolworths bag. They had been dumped there.

All 6 are now safe and being bottle fed as they are around 3 1/2 weeks old. These 4 are being temporarily cared for here. Please contain and desex your cat so no kittens have to be dumped like these babies.

Brushtail possum joey Jade arrived 5 weeks ago and spent the first 4 weeks tucked down my top almost 24/7. She was rescued by a lovely lady who drove past thinking it was odd to have something at her back of a possum that was hit by a car. She came back to check and found a cold baby clinging desperately to her deceased mother.

It was another 5 hours before she got into care. Still cool, we knew her survival would be touch and go. As soon as she was warmed, fluids were started and she drank greedily straight away and didn’t look back. Now she is thriving and fingers crossed, she continues. She now has a buddy called Ruby. Her story coming soon.

Cedar and Maple, ringtail possum joeys are enjoying lapping their evening milk. Cedar is so grateful to have a buddy, despite her new buddy Maple was over 4 hours away. Maple was well looked after until we could get her here a few days later.

Another thing we do here between making teats and rehabilitating wildlife joeys, is raising neonate kittens. Over the last 8 weeks or so we have raised a litter of 3. These 3 were found cold and wet, the 4th sibling had already died. Their mother had been scared off by noisy machines the day before.

Found by one of our fabulous wildlife carer’s son, then transported by his wildlife carer mother to me, she stopped part of the way to pull over and give CPR to the blue tabby and white girl. On arrival, that kitten was then put in bed with my still half asleep partner to rewarm, while her brothers went into the incubator.

Once they were warm, two were given subcut fluids and all 3 took to their bottles straight away. Today they are thriving, vaccinated and ready to surrender to TenLives for desexing and adoption.
