Small business owners are constantly trapped in their business, never being able to switch of or have a break, they are wanting to but just not finding the time. Although having your own business has many good areas, there is also a lot of work that is involved. SBIS has created a day in September to help small business owners get out of the constant treadmill that is their business. The Big Day Off is a great way to get your mind back on track. Helen Cowley, the director, mentor and principal of SBIS has been meeting with people for a very long time in order to help them improve their business. However, in the last 18 months she has been noticing that more and more customers that are approaching her have just been so stressed out that they either sit there or exhausted or in some cases cry. In order for Helen to help them she has had to encourage them to go and take a day off because their cup is just so full that they cannot take on new ideas and changes because their mind does not enable changes, growth or new concepts. Once they have a day or two off from their busy schedule they were a lot more focused and ready to work on improving their businesses. That is where the inspiration for this day has come, from real life experiences.
