Home of the VA podcast, Outsourcing Mysteries Exposed. If you’re looking for a Virtual Assistant network, that not only looks after Virtual Assistants but also cares for fellow business owners, then here it is. Introducing the Virtually Yours network. Over 17 years ago, I (head VA and mother duck) started Virtually Yours. Being a VA before it was ‘trendy’, I was a

pioneer in the industry. Quickly growing my own successful business, I soon realised that my real passion lies in helping other VAs start out. There’s nothing I love more than sharing my knowledge with new VAs to help them grow. There’s plenty of work out there for VAs so the more the merrier I say. It can be tricky at the start to work out what this means for you. Virtual Assistants who join my mentoring team, have quickly nutted out their unique selling proposition, being able to target their marketing efforts and many finding a full client load within their first year of business. It seems I have a talent for dragging this out of my mentees. And with the Virtual Assistant quickly growing within Australia, so is the Virtually Yours network. Not only will you have access to jobleads, but you’ll form some firm friendships with other VAs. Working virtually can sometimes feel lonely, but you’re never fully alone when you have access to colleagues on the friendliest VA network in Australia. Virtually Yours also supports business owners who are looking for a Virtual Assistant. If you’re a business owner who is thinking about working with a VA, but you’re unsure of how it will all work, have a chat with us. And if you’re unsure what you could use a VA for, here’s a small example.
• General administration: answering emails/phone calls, typing, word processing…
• Database updating/maintenance
• Graphic Design
• Website design/maintenance
• Copywriting
• Bookkeeping
I could bang on for hours with business chores you can outsource but I want you to take a moment to make your own list. Sit down and think about all the LST (Life Sapping Tasks) that drain your energy, that drain the love from your business. Now contact us with that list and let us help you find the perfect VA, or team of VAs who can help you. With over 170 VAs to connect with, you’re sure to find a VA who you click with. And remember, a good VA is your administrative assistant, but a GREAT VA is more like a business partner. Work with some of the best VAs in Australia. Scaling isn’t a flex. It’s a skill and most people teaching it have never actually done it.

On the podcast, I shared something I don’t talk about often:
In six months, I scaled my business from one team member to eight.
Not with hype.
Not with “manifest multiple 6-figures” nonsense.
But with strategy, leadership, standards, and systems that could actually hold growth.

Because here’s the thing…
I cannot stand the online space pitching:
“I’ll teach you how to hit multiple 6-figures!” as if income is the only measure of success or as if they invented business growth.

I’m not here to sell fake promises.
I’m not here to convince anyone that more money = more worth.

And I’m definitely not here to use my numbers as a marketing hook.

What I am here to do:
🔥 Share what real scaling looks like
🔥 Teach the operational backbone behind growth
🔥 Help VYVA members build businesses that feel GOOD to grow
🔥 Support women who want to expand sustainably, not chaotically
🔥 Offer the roadmap if they want that journey

Because this isn’t about “Look what I did.”

This is about “Here’s what’s possible for you, too if you desire it.”

Inside VYVA, growth isn’t a brag.

It’s a byproduct of standards, self-leadership, and community support.

👇 Tell me:
Do YOU want to scale or do you want stability first?

Let’s get real: not all VAs are created equal and pretending they are is exactly why so many businesses burn time, money, and momentum. 🫢🔥
There are pros and cons to offshore and onshore support.
We’re not here to deny that.
But we are here to advocate fiercely for something we know is true:
🇦🇺 Australian VAs hit different.
Here’s why we talk about it so much:
✨ Aussie VAs bring leadership, not just labour.
✨ They don’t just “do tasks” they improve processes.
✨ They understand local business culture, urgency, nuance, and initiative.
✨ They make decisions without panicking.
✨ They see problems before the client sees them.
This isn’t about putting anyone down.
This is about educating the industry so clients actually get the outcomes they’re paying for and so Aussie VAs stop being compared to rates and roles that don’t even match their expertise.
Advocacy matters.
Standards matter.
And shining a light on the difference between Aussie VAs and offshore teams is part of the movement we’re leading to elevate the profession, the value, and the expectations of what a VA actually is.
If you're an Aussie VA, say it louder:
🔥 We’re not “admin support.” We’re business assets.
🔥 We don’t cost more we deliver more.
🔥 We are the evolution of the industry.
Tag an Aussie VA who deserves the recognition. 👇🇦🇺

A lot of VAs don’t have a skill problem.

They have an access problem.

Not enough leads.
Not enough visibility.
Not enough connection.

Networking can feel intimidating.

Especially when you walk into a room full of people who all seem to know each other.

So here’s a simple shift that makes it easier.

Don’t go alone.

Take a friend.
A colleague.
Someone who understands what it feels like to walk into that room.

Give yourself a little safety net.

Agree to check in after fifteen minutes.
Rescue each other if a conversation stalls.
Divide and conquer and compare notes later.

Suddenly the pressure drops.

But the real shift isn’t just about confidence.

It’s about participation.

The people who build strong networks aren’t always the most polished.
They’re the ones who keep showing up.

The same events.
The same rooms.
The same conversations.

Over time people notice.

Not because you’re pitching constantly.
Because you’re part of the room.

And when people see you participating, learning, and contributing alongside them, trust builds naturally.

In the years ahead, participation will matter more than perfection.

If this made networking feel a little more doable, save it for later.

Or send it to the friend you might bring to your next event.

Your bank balance is lying to you. 💸😬
If the only thing you’re checking is
👉 what’s in your bank
👉 how much you invoiced
you are not seeing the full picture of your business.
Here’s what most VAs are missing 👇
💥 Accounts receivable
Your bank balance doesn’t tell you:
• who hasn’t paid yet
• how much money is still owed to you
• when (or if) it’s actually landing
Cash in the bank ≠ cash guaranteed.
💥 Payroll & commitments
That balance looks cute… until wages, contractors, and expenses hit.
💥 GST (this one’s big)
If you invoiced $11,000
👉 $1,000 of that is GST
👉 and that money is NOT yours
Say it louder for the people in the back:
GST is not income. It’s borrowed money.
If you’re registered for GST and you’re not separating it immediately,
your bank balance is overstated
and you’re spending money that already belongs to the ATO.
VA Rebellion rule ⚔️
As soon as GST hits your account:
➡️ move it
➡️ separate it
➡️ treat it like it never belonged to you
Because real business owners don’t run their business off vibes and bank balances.
They run it off clarity.
And clarity = power.

If raising your rates makes you instantly nauseous, sweaty, or convinced your entire client roster will abandon you… you’re not bad at business you’re bumping into your money story.
Let’s unpack this one, because it comes up for VAs every. single. day.
So many of you said you haven’t raised your rates because of:
❌ Fear of losing clients
❌ Imposter syndrome (“Who am I to charge that?”)
❌ Guilt around money
❌ Not knowing how to justify the increase
But here’s the truth you’re avoiding:
👉 Your clients already know your value.
👉 It would cost them FAR more to replace you than it would to pay you an extra $5 an hour.
👉 They’ve probably increased their rates multiple times since you started… so why are you the only one staying frozen?
And let’s be real everything else in the damn world has gone up.
Groceries. Electricity. Software. Insurance.
But YOU think your rate should stay the same because you feel bad?
This is not a pricing issue.
This is a money mindset issue.
A self-worth issue.
A nervous system safety issue.
If the thought of charging more makes you spiral, here’s your next step (and no, it’s not another affirmation card):
📝 Journal on these questions honestly, not politely:
• What do I think will actually happen if I raise my rates?
• Where did that belief come from?
• Is it a fact or a fear?
• What evidence do I have that my clients value me?
• What would I tell another woman if she was afraid to raise her prices?
• Why do I believe I’m the exception to the rule?
Write until the truth falls out.
Because once you see the real story underneath the fear…
that rate increase suddenly doesn’t feel so terrifying.
Remember:
You’re not a bargain bin service.
You’re a business.
Raise your damn rates.

“Inspired Chaos vs. Structured Focus”
Some of us run on inspiration like it’s rocket fuel 🚀
(Hi, it’s me sending Slack one-liners from a treadmill so I don’t lose the idea or break my neck. 🤣)
But here’s the truth every VA eventually learns:
✨ Inspiration builds magic. Structure builds momentum.
And you actually need both to run a powerful business.
Follow the spark when it hits let your brain be brilliant, messy, wild, creative.
But don’t underestimate the power of designated time slots either.
Blocking your day into focused windows for each client?
That’s where productivity stops leaking and your capacity doubles.
Because when you're juggling multiple clients, context-switching is the silent killer.
But intentional time blocking?
That’s how you stay laser-focused, deliver like a pro, and still have space for those bursts of genius.
This is the VA Rebellion way:
Flow when it flows. Focus when it’s time to produce.

Leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice it’s about being the one who advocates fiercely for the people you serve.

This line from the podcast is the heart of what VYVA is built on:
“I really like helping people grow significantly it’s always been a passion of mine.”

That passion shaped the entire community.

And when it came time to choose the next leader of VYVA, she wasn’t looking for someone to simply maintain what existed.

She was looking for someone who could step up, step out, and be a voice.

Someone unafraid to advocate.

Someone willing to fight for the growth and integrity of the women inside the movement.

“I needed someone who could be a mad advocate for the people in the community.”

And hearing her say that and knowing she believed I was that person is something I’ll carry with deep gratitude.

Because advocacy isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Rosie’s expression of it and mine will look different but the heart behind it remains the same:
We rise because you rise.
We lead because you deserve leadership.
We fight because your business deserves more than survival.

Inside VYVA, advocacy isn’t an add-on.

It’s the foundation.
It’s the heartbeat of this rebellion.

What kind of advocacy has changed YOUR growth the most?
