One of life’s hardest truths is this: while we are busy watching our children grow up, we don’t always realise that we are growing old too.
Yesterday, they were little hands reaching for ours, little voices calling “Mum” and “Dad,” needing us for almost everything. Today, they are grown, building lives of their own, and we find ourselves wondering where all those years went.
And somewhere between raising them and letting them go, we realise that time has been changing us too.
The house gets quieter. The children become independent. The years begin to show on our faces and in our hands. And suddenly, the moments we once wished would hurry along become the moments we wish we could have back.
So cherish them while you can. Make the calls. Share the meals. Take the photos. Laugh together. Forgive quickly. Say “I love you” often.
Because children grow up, parents grow old, and time never turns around.
