A Wi-Fi network that is “Open” or uses a default password (like “Password123” or the router serial number) is the digital equivalent of leaving your side gate wide open and the back door unlocked.

An intruder doesn’t need to enter your home to exploit an unsecured network. They can sit in a car across the street, access your shared files, monitor your connected smart cameras or find data that tells them your daily schedule.

The Fix is ‘Zero-Cost’ (and Takes 5 Minutes).

Change your network name (SSID) to something generic (not “The Johnsons’ House”).

Use a ‘Passphrase’: Instead of a single word, use a unique phrase (e.g., “TheGreenDogEatsPizza”). It’s easier to remember and significantly harder to crack.
