Happy World Environment Day 🌏

Today teams from all BTP branches are taking part in an Emu Bob, collecting rubbish around their work areas to create cleaner, safer sites. Removing loose litter helps to prevent waste from entering drains and waterways, while contributing to a better workplace for everyone.

We’re also introducing a new recycling initiative, with Ecobins being rolled out across all BTP sites in the coming months. These bins will make it easier to separate recyclables, reduce landfill waste, and support our commitment to being Never Wasteful.

It’s great to see our teams getting involved, working together to make a positive impact, one small action at a time.

At BTP, we’re committed to developing our people and giving them the skills, confidence, and support to succeed in their roles.

We recently brought together leading hands, supervisors and office leaders from BTP branches around Australia for our Supervising@BTP course, an immersive three-day program focused on building practical leadership capability.

Designed with real-world application in mind, the course centred on developing core people leadership skills. Throughout the program, participants strengthened their ability to manage tasks effectively, provide clear direction, adapt to different personality styles, lead with curiosity, and deliver meaningful, constructive feedback.

By investing in our people, we’re building confident leaders who are better equipped to support their teams, and deliver better outcomes for both employees and clients.

Adam “Smiley” Tomlinson has been part of BTP for nearly 17 years and is a familiar face across the WA mining industry.

Known for his easy-going, chatty nature (his partner calls him a “yapper”), Smiley has built long-standing relationships by being reliable, approachable, and always focused on finding the right solution.

Whether he’s supporting customers in the field or catching up with them at industry events, it’s those relationships and everyday interactions that drive him.

Ask him what makes BTP a great place to work and he’ll point straight to the people - a team that gets in, has a go, and enjoys a few laughs along the way.

At BTP, our strength comes from the diversity of our people and our willingness to learn from one another. Our workforce includes people from a range of cultural backgrounds, including employees from Ghana currently working in Australia.

Recently, our Mackay team had the opportunity to learn more about Ghanaian culture through a special presentation led by Ambrose Quaye, Heavy Duty Mechanic.

Wearing traditional dress, Ambrose shared insights into Ghana’s history and cultural traditions. Ambrose and his Ghanaian colleagues also provided a delicious meal featuring traditional flavours and local delicacies. It was a generous and powerful way to bring Ghanaian culture to life.

A big thank you to Ambrose and the Ghanaian members of the Mackay team for sharing your culture and giving the team a greater appreciation of Ghanaian history, traditions and food.

Sharing our cultural heritage brings people closer together and strengthens our team.

Today we downed tools and paused to remember the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Teams from BTP Group and Ausdrill came together for an early ANZAC service at our Hazelmere workshops.

The ANZAC service included a commemorative address delivered by Justin Hughes, Vice President of Eastern Regional (Bassendean) RSL and a Gulf War Kuwait veteran. This was followed by the Ode of Remembrance, read by Kevin Mansfield, BTP Trade Assistant and RAAF veteran.

We honour the bravery of all those who have served our nation, and their invaluable legacy that has helped to shape our way of life.
