Mandurah Police are in my bad books. They lay charges without checking the obvious facts, lose evidence (CCTV footage) that would clear certain charges, accuse you of stealing a phone because you have a Samsung S20 and someone reported one stolen, giving an IMEI number in their statement to police, but don't check the IMEI number of my phone which was different. And then after nearly 6 months held on remand in Casuarina, they drop 10 charges, but still refuse to give me my phone back, saying it belongs to this third party and I must produce a purchase invoice from 6 years ago to prove it's mine and not this other person's. So I have to contact Vodafone, who cannot easily get this cash purchase invoice, but instead provide the call logs for 6 years showing my phone's IMEI number being used by me for 6 years. Irrefutable evidence! But still no, and they force me to make an application to court and on the day of the hearing tell me I can come and get my phone.
An application has been made to dismiss 2 of the remaining 5 charges due to lack of evidence, a single 60 second incident in the Mandurah Court Waiting Room which I did not initiate. They received the CCTV footage from the passageway as I was entering the toilet but they could not be bothered to view it to check the facts, just love laying unsubstantiated charges. And they misunderstood the law which permitted the incident in any event. The law allows communication between parties at a court event. It does not allow certain other things, but the Constable who raised the charges, the Station Officer in charge and the Prosecutor in charge have not checked the law. I wrote to them while on remand, giving them the case law, and then after 2 failed/delayed trials, I was told that there were 10 cases supporting their position. Bullsh*t. Numerous emails but they won't give me these so-called fairytale cases and just ignore the case law I have given them. 3rd attempt at a Trial on remaining charges is now October 2026. So again I have to apply to court to dismiss the charges, for lack of evidence (lost CCTV Footage, No Witnesses) and for incorrect application of the law by stupid police. Double stuff-up by Mandurah Police. Detailed complaints have been lodged regarding this, but these take forever to be investigated and I don't have much faith in the corrupt system.
Now their latest misadventure is 8 charges for breaching a restraining order by writing letters to aq lawyer, something clearly permitted by the VRO. The Senior Constable clearly does not understand this exemption in my VRO and just decided to add additional fictional restrictions/clauses to the VRO which don't exist. Granted bail same day by the Station Officer-in-charge who acted professionally and courteously, and I thank him for his professional and friendly manner. Not so for the Senior Constable laying the false charges. So I have to attend court on 1 July to enter a plea of not guilty to all charges. I will also make an application to dismiss these 8 charges at this hearing, as they have no substance and are not breaches, only in the mind of this Senior Constable who appears to be prejudiced against me.
At the start of the short interview I asked to lay various charges for making false charges, she said she was only focused on this matter, and I would have to see another officer. At the end of the interview I asked for an officer to take my complaint/charges but was denied this instead having to wait until 5pm for release on bail. I was there voluntarily from 10.30am, after they came banging on my front door the previous day interrogating my housemates about my whereabouts, jeopardising my accommodation, while I was at court at the same time lodging an application to dismiss other false charges and serving it at the Police Station. Police left a card and my housemates messaged it to me, I called the police and agreed to come to the police station the next day. Why could they have not just phoned me in the first place? So I end up 6 1/2 hours at the Police Station and this Senior Constable won't let me lay charges with another officer. 5pm I am released but now there is only 1 officer left to take charges and he is busy for a long while so I have to go back now to lay the charges. Well now I can add another 8 charges of laying false charges. And here's the kicker! As I'm being taken to sign the bail papers, this officer says the feed from this page (The Freedom Journey) is coming up on someone's page and they don't want to see it, so can I unlock my phone so she can edit my page. Not bloody likely! My response, "Thankyou but I've had enough help from Mandurah Police." She did not like my sarcastic comment and stormed off in a huff.
I'm glad I had the time between banging on my door 1pm Thursday and the voluntary attendance at the Police Station Friday 10.am. Sure, I only had 4 & 1/2 hours sleep, but I wrote a detailed email, 3 pages long, setting out certain history , sent it to the Senior Constable, The WA Commissioner of Police, Police Complaints, and the Officer-In-charge, putting the senior constable on notice to take legal counsel before proceeding with false charges. She did not heed the warning notice. So now I have to write another long, detailed complaint to all relevant parties against the unprofessional acts of this Senior Constable.
There is a real bias and prejudice against men at the Mandurah Police Station in these situations who always assume men can never be the victims of domestic violence. I've got a book to write! It will be called "My Freedom Journey". I'm a writer(a hobby but that does not pay the bills), and an activist supporting certain causes. Currently I'm involved with a group of volunteers to help the homeless. My role will be to help and guide them to mobilise 10,000 community volunteers across Western Australia to support the many under-resourced organisations out there, and to provide ideas, articles and support on how to mobilise the community, and ideas from across the world and my own years of involvement and knowledge. A simple one is how in The Netherlands they set up a scheme for young people & students to rent rooms from retirees with spare space at reduced rent in exchange for company and household chores and support. This program has worked very well in The Netherlands and would be great to get going in Perth. Everyone bi***es and moans about retirees living in large homes with spare bedrooms shut off and unused when families could have these houses, insisting retirees should downsize accomodation, maybe move into retirement villages. I'll never forget my Gran who would never move out her flat, she loved seeing the school kids each afternoon from her balcony going home after school, feeling part of the wider community. I'ma also going to be building a Campervan to live in for a few years, a real home on wheels, fully off-grid. Not a bed in the back cheap backpacker van but a real full sized van. I've seen plenty of the East Coast and as far north as Exmouth. My dream is to head North, Broome, Karratha, Derby, Kununurah, Darwin, Catherine etc at a relaxed pace, take my time, work along the way to pay the fuel bill and really enjoy THE FREEDOM JOURNEY.
