This morning someone shared with me how tricky the Instagram space can be as a new mum when looking up which sleep consultant to use.

There’s so many consultants out there offering so much info and services that it can be hard to see the wood from the trees when looking for help.

I was on a walk when I read her message and my headphones went flat so I had all the time in the world to ponder her message.

And so then I decided to pop all my thoughts in a post.

Hey mama, how you been feeling lately?

Tired? Anxious? Not enough?

You aren’t alone. So many mums go through the exact same feels.

Despite what you’re feeling, you are the entire world to your baby.
You are more than enough.

Everything you are pouring out is precious. It all matters.

The endless washing piles that only accumulate. Clothing worn while making precious memories.

The inability to stop and relax. The constant googling, checking, seeing. You care, you want the best for your baby and you’ll do anything to foresee and protect.

Each day is a gift to unwrap.

Take a breath and remind yourself. This too shall pass. The good, the hard and the ugly.

We’re all in it together. We all post on the mountain tops. We all cry in the valleys. We’ve got this 💕

For the mum who is ready to have a one stop shop on understanding everything labout their baby’s sleep patterns and habits.

For the mum just needs a step by step guide on how to help their baby to sleep better, with backup plans when it all goes to pot.

My 4-12 month sleep guide is for you. Real, honest and invaluable.

Getting a good nights sleep is so out of touch with my life right now.

Does that resonate?

What if it didn’t though. What if a good night sleep was possible?

What if someone gave you all the science behind baby sleep, all the hints, tips and tricks and then offered you a plan you could literally do yourself?

What if you got a step by step process on how to help your baby sleep better?
Not old wives tales, no cry it out. Just plain old social worker approved, gentle sleep train methods that supported the connection with your baby while helping them get to sleep.

And what if you got to implement the strategies at your own pace and in your own way? So you can have minimal disruption to the household?

My 4-12 month sleep guides are just this. Designed for the mama who just wants to take the reigns of her baby’s sleep journey and do it her own way and at her own pace.

Available for purchase via DM to me or via the link in my bio 💕🤱🏼

Resettling back to sleep is a pivotal aspect of sleep training.

That includes when/if your baby wakes at 5am.

That includes when/if your baby only sleeps 30 mins, 40 mins or 60 mins at nap two.

Resettling back to sleep is probably the biggest factor in kick starting your baby’s body clock into an epic sleep pattern routine. And it’s by far the hardest part of sleep training! I know. I’ve not only been there, but I’ve supported countless Mum’s in the throes of resettling their baby back to sleep.

Why is resettling back to sleep so hard? Because your baby has likely just had a massive chunk of sleep and have minimal sleep pressure to get back to sleep. They also aren’t necessarily used to sleeping for long, uninterrupted periods of time so dislike the fact they can’t just get up again like they normally would.

Why is resettling so important? Because it’s the fastest way for your baby to learn to sleep through that resettle period. So, if your baby wakes at 5am, I recommend to resettle till a minimum of 6.30am so they can learn to sleep through to 6.30am. If your baby wakes after 1hr at nap two of the day, I recommend to resettle for an entire extra hour so they learnt to sleep for 2 hrs at nap two. Will it work on that given day? Likely not. Will it work tomorrow? Maybe not? But will it work if after 5 days you’ve resettled every single time consistently? Incredibly likely

Sleep training is a short term plan for a long term game. That means you might not see now the fruit of what you’re doing today, you’ll probably see it in 5 or 6 days time. That’s why it’s so important to be 100% consistent in sleep training.

This is why in my support packages I support mum’s to see the bigger picture, to set achieveable goals and stay encouraged and motivated in keeping to the plan. It can be so emotionally draining to tresettle your baby, but knowing that you have a sleep consultant there championing you on often makes all the difference in sticking to the plan to achieve the goals!

Find out today how I can support, coach, encourage and motivate you to stick to the resettle plans and see the results you (and your baby!) need!

Help! My baby has just started waking around 1am and won’t go back to sleep!

Sound familiar ?!

That’s because after the 4m regression, babies hit another type of regression at 6m, 8m, 12m, 18m and 2 years - but don’t let those ages fool you because sometimes it’s give or take a month 🤪🫠

Here, your normally sleeping baby will wake up and simply lay awake chatting, cooing and maybe even walk around their cot!

This is because they are experiencing an increase in brain activity synonymous with neurological growth spurt - so their brains are actually waking them up!!

The key is to let them be - unless they are crying and unable to get back to sleep.
Usually this is because they need help getting to sleep.
If that’s the case, some gentle sleep training techniques will be super helpful in helping them through the regression.

These methods are gentle and designed to give your baby the space and opportunity to practice self settling while knowing you are there / not far away.

Do you need help through a regression or want to find out more about some sleep training techniques for your baby? Send me A DM and we can chat!

Did you know that the early arvo nap is the hardest nap for babies to master in linking sleep cycles!?

It’s the most important nap of the day but the hardest one too- not just for babies as they learn how to link sleep cycles here, but also for the mamas who are trying to help their baby get back to sleep!!

Within my nap plan I encourage mums to aim for a 2 hr nap here, but settle for 1.5 hrs. Often at the beginning of sleep training this entire ‘nap time’ actually more consists of settling bubby to sleep, then trying resettle back to sleep before throwing in the towel and trying again the next day!!

But for this reason I encourage mums “you may have lost the battle of this nap, but you haven’t lost the war!“

And they haven’t. 99.9% of the time, with absolute consistency their babe ends up sleeping for 1.5-2 hrs at the early arvo nap at the end of sleep training.

You know why? Because mum was consistent in her efforts to teach bubby to go back to sleep.

You know how and why mum was consistent? Because she had a cheerleader coaching her, guiding her and encouraging her to keep going.

As a sleep consultant I not only provide a nap / sleep train plan, but I’m there 100% of the way, each step and hiccup cheering and championing you on so that you get to see the results you so desperately want to see.

I support you as you support your baby to learn how to sleep.

Such a beautiful dynamic relationship!

Anybody else out there have a serial catnapper? You’ve just popped bubby down for a nap, cleaned all the bottles, boiled the kettle and chucked a load of washing on and your baby is awake again.

The exhaustion is REAL not just for you but for your baby! Whilst many babies are biologically wired to catnap, these short naps aren’t restorative enough to give them physical, emotional and mental rest. This can lead to shorter awake windows, grumpiness and overtiredness.

Overtiredness leads to frequent night wakeups, early morning wakeups and more catnaps. Vicious cycle eh?

Don’t worry, it’s not all doom and gloom! This is why I’ve created my 4-12 month sleep guide!! In this guide I unpack catnaps and how to manage them. I help you choose the best nap of the day to try and resettle and guide you through how exactly to resettle, when to throw in the towel if they refuse to get back to sleep and how to manage when you’ve thrown in the towel. Designed to walk you through step by step how to troubleshoot your baby’s catnapping habits and teach them to take longer naps. You can go at your own pace and reach out for a “Deep Dive Call” if you need a bit of personalised support.

If you’re the exhausted mama however that just needs someone to tell you what to do that will work specifically for your baby and your unique situation – why don’t you consider one of my personalised support packages? Here, I write you up a comprehensive sleep assessment based on your babes specific situation, then write you up a personalised sleep train plan that matches their temperament and your parenting style. We can then have daily contact together (and can throw in a home visit and phone calls if you please!) where I can coach, support, guide and cheer you on as well as tweak the plan if we think things need to change once we’re into the throes of sleep training.

Send me a DM or check out the link in my bio if you’re ready to get some help to navigate your baby’s catnapping habits and bring some epic sleep back into your family.🤱🏼💕
