⭐ NEW RESOURCE – AgTech Careers!

The AgTech Careers | DPIRD resources offer a unique learning opportunity for Foundation–Year 10 students to explore how agricultural technologies and innovation support Australia’s food and fibre systems 🌾🍎

Developed by PIEFA and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (WA), these resources showcase diverse career pathways and technologies in agriculture, with a focus on sustainability and the use of digital tools.

📚 Primary (F–6) Resource
Students explore the journey from paddock to plate and fibre from farm to fashion, using tools like VetChip, drones, and satellite imaging. They connect what they learn to real-world applications, culminating in a hands-on career expo where they present posters showcasing key technologies and agricultural careers 🎨🛰️

🔬 Secondary (7–10) Resource
Students explore sustainability and ethics in AgTech careers, conduct case studies, and engage in research-led design. Activities include identifying supply chain roles, investigating real-world AgTech examples, and creating interactive exhibitions featuring roles such as research scientist, irrigation technician and digital agronomist 🧪🍓

Dairy Australia is not only looking to attract current jobseekers to dairy farming, but we’re also looking to the next generation of farm workers.

Our successful Discover Dairy Schools program, which brings the dairy industry into Australian classrooms with lessons on the importance of dairy as part of a balanced diet, will include a new careers attraction resource kit.

Dairy Australia has also formed a partnership with the Careers Department Nationals Schools Tour which aims to widen students’ concepts of careers by bringing industries to them. The Tour will reach over 100 schools and 40,000 students nationally in a face-to-face format over 12 months.
