Ep 125 – The Key to Great Surfing, is the Key to Building a Great Business
I recently wrapped up a series of three coaching session with a pair of business partners—one of whom had been, a handbrake on any growth plans.
Negative about pricing. Not able to see market opportunities. Pushing back on building capacity in the team
After those three sessions, there was a fundamental shift in his mindset. They each got clear on their personal view of the long-term vision and helping them see how could create alignment between them both. Both rowing the boat I the same direction
Once they both had a shared frame of reference, decisions became easier. Energy shifted. The handbrake let go, and growth opportunities began to appear.
And it reminded me of something my son’s surf coach used to say:
👉 “Where the eyes go, the body follows.”
If you want to hit the lip, you have to look at it. Same in business—where you direct your attention and energy, your business follows.
Your vision isn't a motivational quote on the wall. It’s the lens through which you make every key decision. And when it’s clear and shared, it becomes instinctive. Like surfing, it stops being forced—and starts to flow.
