In aged care, we often speak about clinical excellence, governance, compliance, staffing pressures, and the increasing complexity of supporting older Australians. These conversations are important. But there is another force working quietly in the background that rarely appears in reports, budgets, or strategic plans. Volunteers.
Not because they have to be there. Because they choose to be there.
During National Volunteer Week, we celebrate the extraordinary people who freely give their time to support others. At MYVISTA, we see every day how volunteers quietly strengthen aged care communities. They sit with residents, help at activities, and share conversations. These moments can completely change the shape of a day.
Volunteers don’t replace care. They enrich it. They bring warmth, continuity, and community into environments that can otherwise feel clinical or busy.
To all our volunteers at MYVISTA and across aged care, we thank you. Your presence is not just appreciated, it is deeply felt. You remind us that care is not only something we provide. It is something we share.
