❤️ 18 years of life at MYVISTA

For 18 years, Nora and Ken have called MYVISTA Balcatta Retirement Village home, making memories, sharing plenty of moments and building a life together along the way.

From day-to-day routines to friendships, celebrations and everything in between, 18 years is a wonderful milestone to celebrate.

We’re so pleased to have been part of their story and even more pleased that there are still plenty of chapters to come. 🥰

Fire safety is one of those things we hope we never have to put into practice, but we make sure our team is ready if we do.

Our RNs recently took part in Fire Warden training, learning how to respond, communicate and help keep our residents safe in an emergency. Alongside this, our Annual Fire Inspection gave our fire safety systems and equipment their regular thorough check.

For our residents and families, it’s reassuring to know that while we’re busy creating a warm and welcoming home, we’re also making sure the important safety measures behind the scenes are in place and working as they should.

We were pretty excited to see our very own “Noodles of Fun” featured as one of the latest entries in the Humans of Aged Care 2026 photo competition.

And honestly, this photo says a lot about life at MYVISTA. It was taken during a game of pool noodle tennis at MYVISTA Balcatta, with our Activities Coordinator and Operations Manager getting right amongst the fun with residents.

What makes the moment even more special is that it was part of our World Elder Abuse Awareness Day activities which is a day about respecting older people, valuing their voices and creating environments where people feel connected, included and able to simply have fun, because sometimes it really is the small moments that matter.
Thank you to Ageing Australia and the Humans of Aged Care team for recognising our little moment of fun and to our Balcatta team for continuing to create plenty more of them.

When Angelo sings, you can’t help but smile!

Our MYVISTA Balcatta resident was singing his heart out in Italian, filling the room with music, memories and plenty of passion.

There’s something special about the role music plays in aged care. A familiar song can bring back memories, spark a conversation or simply make you smile. That's why we bring performers and singers into our community to celebrate the many cultures, languages and memories that make our residents who they are!

A very special 101st birthday celebration for Giuseppina Raina at MYVISTA Balcatta!

There was cake, live music, plenty of smiles and even a staff performance of the Macarena!

It was wonderful to celebrate such an incredible milestone surrounded by family, friends, residents, and our MYVISTA team. Here’s to 101 years of wonderful memories and many more happy moments to come.

At MYVISTA, culturally appropriate care starts with understanding.

Our team recently took part in Cultural Diversity Training, strengthening our knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the many cultures, beliefs and traditions that make up our MYVISTA community.

Every resident has a unique story, shaped by their culture, language, life experiences and values. By continuing to learn, we can provide care that is respectful, inclusive and truly person-centred.

✈️ Our MYVISTA Mirrabooka residents were off on another wonderful Armchair Travel adventure and this time travelling to the beautiful Philippines!

Residents immersed themselves in Filipino culture and enjoyed a delightful experience filled with traditional Filipino food and drinks, vibrant performances and plenty of smiles along the way.

From tasting delicious flavours to enjoying lively entertainment, the morning was a celebration of culture, community and discovering places from around the world.

Armchair Travel continues to be a much-loved activity at MYVISTA Mirrabooka, creating opportunities to explore different countries, spark memories, encourage conversation and experience the joy of travel together.

Maraming salamat to everyone who helped bring the Philippines to Mirrabooka for such a special experience ❤️
