One of the most important things spending time with Country can teach you is to let go. What that letting go of is different for different people in different times of their lives.

Right now, Country is teaching us at Koorda’s to let go of fear, and childhood curiosity is coming back.

Our 'We Rise As One' Program offers Koorda's Crew a way to give back to the Aboriginal Community. We understand that not every organisation or person has the funds to have our services, and we really want our younger mob to know culture & our organisations to thrive - so we offer a limited number of our services - including consulting, for free, each year.

This year, we were thrilled to be able to provide 4 of our children's sessions to the Moorditj Koolangka Group at Yanchep Beach Primary School.

This was only possible from the broader support Koorda's Crew received through bookings, trainings and consulting requests throughout the year - so thank you so very much.

EOIs are now open for 2027 for our We Rise As One Program. Email us at [email protected] with your organisation or group (you do not have to be incorporated), what you are needing a hand with, when and why.

We only have a limited number of hours available in this program per year.

EOIs close on the 30th of October 2027. Please note this program is only available for Aboriginal community members or organisations.

If you ever wondered why there were so many half eaten gumnuts over the ground, you may have had some of the ngoolarks having their dinner!

The ngoolarks were making great use of the food at John Forrest National Park just before the rains set in while we were scoping the walk for our private tour up there next week!

Have you ever wondered how Noongar people caught djildjit / fish?

Come along to our FREE event, thanks to the City of Wanneroo!

We will be learning how Noongar people caught fish while learning about tides, area, conservation & using natural resources to then put our learnings into practice using playdough and water colour paints.

This is one of many of our Solid Science Experiences where we combined Western science with Traditional Knowledge to get the best of both worlds and get people thinking out of the box about the Country around them - and with only a few tickets left, it’s sure to sell out! Last week we were so lucky to spend a few hours with the families of the Ngalang Moort Ngalang Kurlangah (Our Family, Our Children) program run by Ngala for their Family Day 🌼.

We put on a range of stationed activities to peak the interests of children 1 - 7 years. The sensory tables and Duplo areas were the biggest hits.

Even the adults were sat playing with the playdough and kinetic sand, which we think is great!

We found this Calosoma schayeri (green carab beetle or saffron beetle) at Yanchep during the few days of heat we had here in Boorloo / Perth last week. How beautiful is the green!

They are normally active at night, eating caterpillars - so we were really thrilled to see one and learn more about them! 🪲

Check out the kwobidak / beautiful creations members across different communities have created in our Quandong Craft Workshops throughout this year! We’ve seen bookmarks, necklaces and our signature keychains.

Our Quandong Keychains Workshops - or craft workshops if you want more flexibility, are perfect for unwinding for children and adults alike. We can come to you - or we can go to one of our peaceful outdoor locations we are licensed to operate in.

Whether you paint the whole seed or simple details to match the rest of your creation, you always leave carrying a little bit of Country wherever you go.

In our opinion, it’s a great way to spend time with friends, colleagues or family when life or work has been a little chaotic recently. 🌈
