Our GFG Temp Assist business is urgently seeking out new candidates for current Temporary Placements in Local Government Organisations (LGO's).

If you have prior work experience in LGO’s, have an adaptable and flexible attitude and can ‘hit the ground running’, then GFG Temporary Assist would love to discuss future opportunities with you. Many of GFG current staff resources are highly qualified and experienced professionals that are either;
* semi-retired looking for challenging short-term project/relief engagements;
* have young family commitments, but seek engaging work to fill the time when children are at school; or
* have temporary work commitments but are still looking for other challenging engagements to fill the balance of their working week.

GFG Future Directions

Over the past few weeks we have run a number “Directions” Workshops to reflect on the consulting works undertaken over the past 2 years and refocus project pursuits in 2021.

Workshops were held separately with the “Strategic Development / Management Support Team” and the “Project Management / Design Team” to collectively understand capability strength and to better align future pursuits.

These workshops were fruitful in sharing ideas, updating teams on the recent projects undertaken and better aligning pursuits with team capability. List of works undertaken by these teams over the past two years are now included on our Website.

GFG Consulting is delighted to have been awarded the recent Tender to continue to support the City of Bayswater with the refurbishment of the Bayswater Waves Aquatic Facility. Having successfully supported the City with the upgrading of the Hydro Therapy Area (Stage 1), we now look forward to working with the City’s Team to upgrade the remaining Stages 2 to 5 of this important Regional Aquatic Facility. Our role will be to work with the City’s team in reassessing refurbishment needs, considering alternative heating technologies and leading design of proposed facility upgrades. The aim of the project is to maximise the functional life of the centre and improve the amenities offered to the community. The GFG team look forward to working closely with the City over the coming months to deliver a quality outcome for the Bayswater Community.

We invite you to join GFG Consulting’s, Senior Associate, Mr Peter McAllister, on Friday 21 February at the Dolphin Discovery Centre, Bunbury, for an informative breakfast where he will be presenting the topic of “Operations Reviews and Active Management Training” for The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA).

With 35+ years’ experience in senior operations leadership roles, responsible for operations management, construction, planning, asset management, remote operation’s technology and customer and stakeholder management.
At GFG Consulting; Peter has led many Local Government Operations Services Reviews and subsequently coached their teams in improving their Works Planning and Active Management practices.

His extensive background in this area, along with his now focused approach with Local Government Teams, equips him well to speak with authority on this topic.

Over the last 6 years, the GFG Consulting Team have undertaken reviews to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of many Local Government Operations Service’s teams. With “Operational Excellence” as our goal we leave no stone unturned when investigating ways your team can improve their performance and delivery quality services to your customers/community.

During the review process the two issues that show up consistently are:
a) A lack of effective work forecasting and planning; and
b) Little evidence of consistent management of the performance of the work.

Hi Guys
Just a quick update to let you know we recently won a substantial “Safe Active Streets” design project for the City of Kalamunda. We also secured the Detail Design phase of their “Haynes” Main Street Streetscape Project. So a couple of great new projects to kick off the new year.

Seeking qualified Part-Time (Project Based) Senior Building Project Managers with solid experience in Local or State Government Community Building Projects.

On a project by project basis, you will be responsible for project managing community building projects from conception to completion. This includes having a sound track record of managing industry standard building contracts and ensuring selected contractors deliver works on time and within budget. You will also be responsible for managing client/stakeholder engagement, chairing project meetings, recording and monitoring project status. GFG has recently completed an Operations Review of the Town of Victoria Park’s, Environmental Health Team. This review looked at the way the team currently operates and the workload they manage. From the review process we have identified and proposed a number of strategies to improve the effectiveness of this team. We are looking forward to seeing how these proposed suggestions for improvement add value to the delivery of these important services to the Town of Victoria Park’s Community.

GFG Consulting recently completed a structural engineering review of the Minim Cove boardwalk for the Town of Mosman Park. We have subsequently provided a full report and recommendations to the Town so that this important community recreation facility is restored and again open to the public.
