🎤 MEET OUR GUEST SPEAKER 🎤

This Saturday, 14 March we are hosting an International Women's Day Power Up Brunch at the Port Lincoln Hotel from 10am-12noon.

👋 Let us introduce our guest speaker: Kathryn House AM.

Kathryn House AM is Chairperson of Impact 100 (SA), a collective giving circle, which works to raise the profile of charities and to encourage philanthropy in our community. She is also Chairperson of Grandcarers SA, Vice President of Zoos SA, and is a Board member of the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute and chairs the SAHMRI Public Engagement and Philanthropy Committee.

A committed philanthropist, Kathryn was honoured to receive an AM in 2020 for service to the community. She now devotes much of her time to organisations that lessen disadvantage and create opportunities for people to thrive.

Before this chapter, Kathryn spent over 20 years pioneering Chinese language education in South Australia, teaching across schools, universities, and adult education. Her work was recognised with a World Teacher’s Day Teaching Excellence Award in 2013. She has held other professional roles with SA Employers Federation and with the House Group of Companies, supporting the Managing Director across aged care, building and development, property management, and community engagement.

Not forgetting, her professional journey began at KFC, where she learned so many great life lessons and was proud to be named the Colonel’s Golden Girl not once, but twice. 😂

👩 Happy International Women’s Day! 💫

On 8 March, people around the world are celebrating International Women’s Day. It is a day to honour the achievements of women, and is also a catalyst for change.

This day matters because we’ve come a long way, but we’re not there yet.

This year’s theme is “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” Central to this vision is empowering the next generation: youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls.

We are a formidable force when we act together. Just one small act from each of us can have impact on others and the young women in our lives.

Take this day to celebrate yourself and the women around you. Let it act as reminder to continue to strive for equal opportunities and zero violence.

🙋‍♀️Tag a friend who you want to celebrate today!

Yours faithfully,
Eyre Peninsula’s Women in Business

🎗️CHARITY RECIPIENT🎗️

At our International Women’s Day - Amongst the Vines on 7 March 2025, we are raising funds for West Coast Youth & Community Support.

For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment. This is the theme for International Women’s Day 2025. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation - youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls - as catalysts for lasting change.

We therefore wanted to raise funds for a organisation right here in our community who directly benefits and empowers young women.

WCYCS provide opportunities for young people and others to implement positive changes. This leads to better outcomes for them individually as well as for the community.

From homelessness, and drug and alcohol support, to helping build a mentally fit Eyre Peninsula, WCYCS offers a wide range of support.

Our silent auction is a fun way for you to get involved! Not only may you win an item to take home, you know the money spent is going directly into our community.

🎟️TICKET SALES CLOSE TOMORROW! Grab your ticket (and maybe some for your friends/colleagues!) here 👉 https://events.humanitix.com/international-women-s-day-amongst-the-vines
