My passion for lutherie began at a very young age. After literally tearing apart a guitar at age 8 I built a violin at the age of 13 and have never looked back. I currently specialise in the repair and restoration of fine instruments, both vintage and modern covering anything from re fretting to full restoration of early and modern instruments. Two weeks ago we experienced the sudden passing of a dear friend, guitarist, music producer and designer Glen Hannah.

Its taken a while to comprehend the tragic loss of a person that I looked up to and admired so much.

Glen was responsible for my website, logo and for all of the beautiful photography of my instruments on the site.

Everything he did, be it a recording session, photo shoot or graphic design layout for a CD, catalogue or magazine cover - he did to the absolute peak of his ability.

But all of those skills and amazing talent aside, what I loved so much about Glen was his humility, compassion for others and especially his ability to be ever present; always giving you his full attention.

He was also an advocate for charities, offering his time an expertise to any worthy cause or person you'd ask him for help with.

People like Glen don't come into our lives often enough and whilst his life was tragically cut short, his legacy of generosity, good humoured kindness and loyal friendship will inspire the same in me and many others forever.

There have been so many tributes on social media the past week - its a real comfort to know he had such a positive effect on so many people.

Glen is survived by his wife and two beautiful young daughters.

A Fund Raiser to help support his young family through this time has been set up for anyone wishing to help out.
