Today was a rough one. 🫠

Baby wouldn’t sleep, I had a mountain of orders to pick and pack, AND new stock arriving that needed to be unloaded and unpacked. Needless to say, today didn’t quite go to plan.

But you know what did happen?

I had the most amazing bunch of women come through the warehouse. They shopped with us, played with baby, had a laugh and, honestly, made me smile when I really needed it. 🤎

The village we’ve created through The Silk Studio continues to amaze me.

Sometimes I feel really unprofessional sitting in the warehouse with kids screaming in the background, trying to answer questions while simultaneously packing orders and keeping everyone happy. But then I’m reminded that I’m just a mum, trying to build something for my family.

And our incredible customers remind me of that constantly.

Not once has someone complained or walked out because of the crying, the mess or the chaos. In fact, there have been so many times where a customer has literally said, “Give him to me!” just so I can have a few minutes to breathe. 🥹

How lucky am I?

I am SO proud of our little community. So many of you started as customers and have somehow become part of our little The Silk Studio Family.

Thank you for shopping with us. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for understanding the beautiful mess that comes with building a business while raising a family.

And thank you for always reminding me that I don’t have to do it perfectly. 🫶

Things I wish I knew about faux flowers 🌸

Before I started styling with faux flowers, I thought they were just a “fake” version of the real thing…

I was wrong. 👀

Here are a few things I wish someone had told me sooner:

✨ Quality makes ALL the difference. Real-touch petals, natural colouring and realistic stems can completely change the look.

✨ You don’t need a huge arrangement. A few beautiful individual stems can make just as much of an impact.

✨ Mixing textures is everything. Combining different flower shapes, sizes and greenery creates a much more natural look.

✨ They’re not just for one season. Unlike fresh flowers, you can keep your favourite stems and restyle them throughout the year.

✨ And yes… they can look VERY real. So real that people often ask if ours are fresh. 🤍
