Mood isn't just “good or bad”, it’s effective or ineffective
We often think of moods as simply good or bad. But a more useful distinction is whether your mood is effective or ineffective for what you’re trying to do.
An ineffective mood might look like frustration, resignation, or distraction, each of which quietly limits what you see as possible.
An effective mood might look like curiosity, resolve, or ambition, each of which opens doors and expands options.
The truth is: moods aren’t just private experiences. They shape our actions, our relationships, and our impact. When we’re in an ineffective mood, it doesn’t just cost us productivity, it costs our families, our teams, and the people we serve.
That’s why having a system to return to yourself is so important. A way to ground, to reset, to come back into a mood that allows you to lead and live more effectively. Without that, it’s too easy to drift into patterns that undermine both our work and our humanity.
When we take better care of ourselves, we don’t just do better in business, we show up better for everyone around us. For our clients, our colleagues, our communities, and our families.
