Ants can enter through tiny cracks and gaps around doors, windows, walls, pipes and other entry points. They may be attracted by food, moisture, sugary substances, pet food, rubbish or even water leaks.

🏠 Why does it matter?
An ant infestation can impact your everyday life, contaminate food preparation areas and become particularly challenging to control when nests are hidden in wall cavities, gardens, roof voids or other inaccessible areas.

πŸ”Ž Effective ant control isn't just about spraying the ants you can see. A professional pest technician needs to identify where the ants are coming from, what is attracting them and where the colony may be located.

At Masters Pest Control Sydney, we take a professional, targeted approach in identifying and controlling ant infestations.

🌳🐜 TERMITES DON’T CARE WHAT SUBURB YOU LIVE IN!

It doesn’t matter whether you live in a leafy suburb, near bushland, on the coast or in a built-up urban area β€” termites can attack your property at any time!

Termites destroy trees, tree stumps and other timber around your backyard, creating pathways for termites to make their way towards your home.

A termite-infested or hollowed-out tree close to your property can be a warning sign that termite activity is nearby, remembering termite damage can often occur out of sight before you notice anything is wrong.

πŸ”Ž Regular professional termite inspections are one of the best ways to detect activity early and help protect your home.

Wherever you live, termites are a threat. Protect your home with Masters Pest Control Sydney.

🌳🐜 Did you know termites can destroy a tree β€” and put your home at risk?

Termites don’t just attack houses. They can infest and hollow out trees, stumps and other timber around your backyard. Once termites are active on your property, your home may be exposed to the same termite population.

A damaged or termite-infested tree close to your home (such as this house in Eastwood), can provide an easy pathway for termites to move from the garden into your house β€” often without obvious signs until significant damage has occurred.

πŸ”Ž Regular professional termite inspections are essential to identify termite activity, nests, damaged trees, stumps and other conditions that could increase the risk to your home.

Don’t wait until you discover termites inside your walls. Protect your home from the ground up with Masters Pest Control Sydney

What does termite damage actually look like?

These recent photographs from a property in Haberfield, Sydney, show just how extensive termite damage can become when timber is attacked. Behind what may initially appear to be sound timber, termites can hollow out structural members, leaving behind severely damaged, weakened and sometimes completely compromised wood.

Termite damage can include:

πŸ”Ž Timber that has been hollowed out from the inside
πŸ”Ž Longitudinal galleries and damaged timber fibres
πŸ”Ž Timber that sounds hollow when tapped
πŸ”Ž Mud workings or termite shelter tubes
πŸ”Ž Damaged structural beams, joists and framing
πŸ”Ž Cracking, sagging or movement in affected areas

The biggest problem? Termites can remain completely undetected for long periods of time. They often work behind walls, beneath floors, inside roof voids and in other concealed areas where damage can progress without obvious signs inside the home.

That’s why a regular, professional termite inspection is so important.

At Masters Pest Control Sydney, our experienced pest management professionals conduct thorough termite inspections, looking beyond the obvious signs to identify termite activity, conditions conducive to termite attack and evidence of previous or current damage.

Don't wait until you discover damaged timber or structural problems.

πŸͺ³ Ever wondered why cockroaches shed their skin?

This image shows a cockroach shortly after **shedding its old skin β€” a process known as moulting**.

Unlike humans, cockroaches have an external skeleton called an exoskeleton. As they grow, this hard outer covering doesn't grow with them. Instead, the cockroach must shed it and develop a larger one.

πŸ”Ž What happens during moulting?

* The cockroach develops a new, soft exoskeleton underneath the old one.
* It splits and carefully emerges from its old skin.
* The newly moulted cockroach is often white or pale in colour and extremely vulnerable.
* Over the following hours, its new exoskeleton hardens and its normal darker colour develops.
* Cockroaches can moult **several times as they mature**, with the number depending on the species.

⚠️ So what does finding a pale cockroach mean?

If you see a pale, freshly moulted cockroachβ€”or discarded cockroach skinsβ€”it's a good indication that cockroaches are actively breeding and developing nearby. Shed skins can often be found in cracks, cupboards, behind appliances, roof voids and other concealed areas.

At Masters Pest Control Sydney, our professional pest technicians don't just treat the cockroach you can see. We look for harbourage areas, breeding sites, food and moisture sources and evidence of ongoing activity to help identify the source of the infestation.

πŸ“ This particular cockroach was photographed in St Ives, NSW.

If you're seeing cockroaches regularly, don't wait for the infestation to become established. Contact Masters Pest Control Sydney for a professional inspection and targeted treatment.

πŸͺ³ See a cockroach? There are often many more hiding where you can't see them.

**What's happening in your roof void? πŸ πŸ€πŸ•·οΈπŸœ**

When was the last time a professional pest controller inspected the roof void of your home?

For many homeowners, the roof void is an "out of sight, out of mind" areaβ€”but it's one of the most common places where pests establish themselves before spreading throughout the property.

During a professional roof void pest inspection, Masters Pest Control Sydney looks for:

βœ… Rodent activity, including rats and mice, nests, droppings and gnaw marks.
βœ… Cockroach infestations hiding in warm, dark areas.
βœ… Spider activity and extensive webbing.
βœ… Signs of termites entering roof timbers or travelling through wall cavities.

Treating the roof void is equally as important as treating the living areas. Applying a professional residual treatment helps control spiders, cockroaches and other crawling insects where they breed and hideβ€”reducing the chance of them entering your home.

At Masters Pest Control Sydney, every inspection is thorough, detailed and designed to identify potential pest problems before they become costly infestations.

If you're booking your next annual pest control service, don't forget the roof voidβ€”it could be the most important part of your home to inspect.

πŸ“ž Contact Masters Pest Control Sydney today for a comprehensive pest inspection and treatment that leaves no area overlooked.
