There's always so much to do when you come back from the Christmas break! It can be hard to know where to begin. Here are my top tips for getting the year off to a flying start:
1. Clear your inbox ASAP - respond to any emails that need an answer, delete what you don't need, and file what you do. Hitting inbox zero always feels great and it really helps with that 'fresh start' mindset.
2. Set up your calendar and/or planning system - whether you're a Google Calendar colour-coder or a pen-and-paper planner, it's important to have a planning system to help you stay on top of appointments and deadlines through the year. Choose a system that works well for you, and take the time to set it up so it's functional for the tasks you need to monitor.
3. Get any new systems & processes ready for use - watch YouTube videos on new software, train your staff, set up your automations, and make sure you know how any new processes work.
4. Declutter & organise your desk space - cluttered space clutters our minds, so make a point of ditching dead pens, old paper, and anything else you don't need. Give yourself a fresh, clean space to work in.
5. Do a digital declutter & archive old files - I don't know about you, but my Downloads folder is my digital equivalent of a junk drawer, and the start of the year is the perfect time to clean it out! Ensuring everything is archived correctly now will save you time and frustration later.
