💳 Two card payment changes worth knowing about. Since 1 October 2026, businesses can no longer add a surcharge for eftpos, Visa or Mastercard payments – payment costs now need to be built into your prices. And if you pay your tax bills by credit card, the ATO has confirmed it will keep accepting credit cards until 30 June 2027 (it had planned to stop after 30 November 2026). 💼 Payday Super has now been running for a full quarter. Since 1 July 2026, your employees' super must reach their super fund within 7 business days of each payday – not quarterly like before. The ATO says that in this first year it's focusing on employers who aren't adjusting or aren't paying super at all, but any missed payments still need fixing quickly. Worth checking your July–September pays now. Give the Megadan team a call if you'd like a hand.

📅 BAS reminder for businesses! If you lodge your own quarterly BAS, the July–September 2026 quarter is due Wednesday 28 October. On monthly BAS? Your September statement is due Wednesday 21 October. Now's a good time to reconcile your bank accounts, check your GST coding and make sure payroll is up to date in your software. Lodging through a registered BAS agent you have until the 25th November 2026. Give the Megadan team a call if you'd like a hand and an extended period of time to lodge and pay.

A fantastic few days at the 2026 ABN Conference on the Sunshine Coast!
It was great to step away from the everyday workload, catch up with like-minded professionals and explore how AI is changing the way we work. Plenty of ideas and inspiration to bring back to Megadan Consulting!
A real highlight for me was listening to Martina Jewell share her incredible story. What an amazing woman! Her resilience, determination and perspective on life were truly inspiring and definitely something I'll take away from the conference!
