Celebrating International Women’s Day and acknowledging the 2026 theme: Balance the Scales.
This theme aligns perfectly with the A Quiet Shift philosophy: trading the daily hustle for steadier, more intentional progress. I believe balancing the scales begins with personal agency — giving women and girls the thinking space and internal capacity they need to shape their own lives, to feel safe, supported, and heard. It is about creating the conditions where we can lead with grounded clarity rather than reacting from emotional burnout and exhaustion.
Reflecting on Friday’s beautiful WomenKind Australia Inc Long Lunch at the Noosa Waterfront restaurant, I am reminded that strength is built from the inside out. A huge thank you to Josanne Falla for her warmth and for welcoming me into this community. To the incoming chair, Annie O-Connor, and the entire Board: thank you for the heart you poured into such a meaningful event.
The vivacious host (and talented local designer) Carlie Wacker kept the afternoon moving seamlessly — it was a joy to wear one of her creations! While The Kitty Kats entertained us. We were moved and inspired by an array of speakers, including Maria Valenzuela, Deborah Campbell, Dr Claire McCartney, Emma Lilley, and Tracy Stockwell OAM. In particular, the grit and resilience of special guest speaker Jacqui Bell left a lasting impression.
To the many female-led businesses who sponsored the afternoon and donated such incredible raffle prizes: your generosity ensures that community impact can endure.
Special shoutouts:
✨ To Lea Taylor, who did a brilliant job of calming some of the rowdier ladies in attendance!
✨ To my GFs—Emily, Annette, and Steph—who all contributed to such a fun-filled afternoon.
✨ And kudos to the person responsible for the fans on the tables; they were a very welcome reprieve from the steamy conditions! 🌬️🍋
