Multiclass Swimming
Today, my son attended his very first PSSA state championships for swimming. He was only classified (sb9) earlier this year, and I did it to put him on a level ‘playing field’ .
It was lovely speaking to some of the other parents in the multiclass events too, especially with the changes coming to the NDIS.
Being that my son as the same diagnosis as me (CMT1A), when he was asked if he has been classified for athletics, I laughed ! Our bodies hate physical activity and running is probably the thing we dislike the most. But, hey, he’s only 12 yrs old, so I’m going to look into it as he actually has a good throwing arm.
These are the things we can do for our kids to encourage them to find the intrinsic motivation to do their best and be rewarded for trying. Such a different world now to when I was in primary school in the 1980’s.
