SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT WHEN PURCHASING A SHARE IN A RACEHORSE!

Have you wondered why it is taking so long for your horse to be named and registered? You paid your share months and months ago but still it has not be named and registered?

Yes the shares may not be fully sold but this also could be because the money you paid is being used to pay off a different horse. Many trainers are currently in arrears with sales companies from the yearlings they purchased from the previous year, this is fraud and it is illegal!

Your horse can not be named and registered until the sales company have released the ID card. This only happens once they receive FULL payment for the horse! Don’t hesitate to contact the sales company to find out if your horses ID card has been sent to your trainer or is being withheld.

A way to avoid this is purchasing a share that is covered by a PDS! Syndication and PDS’ are monitored strictly by the lead regulators, companies are required to send in vendor release statements to prove they have paid the sales company for that horse.

Be smart and do your homework, we don’t want to see owners be burnt and lost to the industry for good!
