This years float embodies what it means to find your people, your tribe, and your strength through authenticity and pride. It’s a living celebration of self-expression, liberation, and the ecstatic power of community.
Join Sydney’s and NSW’s Leather community, its events, community run clubs, and groups, for an incredible opportunity to represent and celebrate leather pride at the 2026 Sydney Gay & Le***an Mardi Gras Parade!
This year, our float will proudly embody the parade theme ECSTATICA, marching with pride, joy, and authenticity under our own theme: Connected by Leather – Empowered by Community.
We’re bringing together an extraordinary group of leather folk from across Sydney, NSW, Australia, and beyond, celebrating our diverse leather identities and the power of community. Together, we’ll express our unapologetic selves, our excitement, and our pride, echoing the liberation we felt last year and carrying that energy forward into 2026.

This year, we want to ensure that all events, clubs, and groups within Sydney’s leather community are represented. While we encourage everyone to proudly showcase their affiliations through flags and outfits, our focus for 2026 is on celebrating the people, the individuality, authenticity, and personalities that make our community so vibrant.
To help maintain balance and visibility across the float, we’ll be limiting the size and quantity of large flags. All large flags, excluding official float banners, will be restricted to a maximum size of 3 ft × 5 ft (approximately 91 cm × 152 cm).
By keeping the focus on leather and the people, not just the flags and banners, we’ll create a stronger, more unified presence that reflects our collective pride, diversity, and connection as a community.
Please note that upon acceptance of applications we will advise the payment details, we expect the cost per marcher to be $50.
