FAR BEYOND BED

"Why do you have to say you're gay?" someone asked David here at GAYBC, then added "I don't tell you what I do in bed".

In that conversation, David had not even mentioned bed - and he had no plans to. The questioner clearly had limited understanding about the breadth of the gay identity.

What David was going to share was about who he was, what he had been through, how he had overcome hurtful rejection and where he was going.

David's story was worth being heard and so is yours. It always gets better. You are valuable and it's good to be you.

👋🏼 Hey, I'm Kiro. A wrong, sad & all too frequent comment seen online is "As a Christian, I believe homosexuality is a sin".

At GAYBC, we weigh in & remind the commenter it would be more accurate to write "As a FUNDAMENTALIST Christian, you believe homosexuality is a sin".

(Fundamentalist Christians believe that modern translations of the Bible are perfectly translated and represent the literal word of God).

Here at GAYBC, we treasure the Bible and immerse ourselves in it daily, reading it carefully - interpreting scripture with scripture & with regard to the original language in which it was written.

💣 🔪 But the opposite approach has seen Fundamentalists "weaponise" the Bible, presenting God as a God of judgement and punishment who we must strive to please, rather than presenting God as attractive, merciful & loving - who gifts us with His righteousness ✅
