Let’s stop pretending this latest Budget is about “helping families.” The Albanese Government is actively suffocating private Australian companies to fund their own reckless public spending. They are tossing out tiny voter handouts as a smoke screen while quietly strangling the local businesses that keep this country running.

As a privately owned and operated Australian company trying to build, invest, and create jobs locally, the reality of Labor’s new tax regime is absolutely brutal:

Ripping Away Investment Incentives: Axeing the 50% Capital Gains Tax discount and enforcing a mandatory 30% minimum floor on real capital gains is a massive betrayal. It effectively punishes domestic founders for taking risks and actively drives venture capital straight offshore.

A Targeted Assault on Business Structures: Slapping a 30% minimum tax rate on discretionary trusts is a blatant cash grab disguised as “fairness.” It destroys flexible tax planning and asset protection, forcing local private owners into expensive, messy corporate restructures.

Burying Enterprise While Inflation Burns: Private businesses are already fighting a losing battle against sticky 5% inflation. Instead of cutting government waste to cool the economy, Labor is burying independent enterprise in punishing compliance tape and handing us the bill.

You can’t tax a nation into prosperity, and you sure as hell can’t build an economy by bleeding your own private sector dry. This budget does nothing for productivity—it just punishes everyday Australian success. 💸📉

Earlier this year, the Revibes team attended the & conference alongside some of the strongest minds and businesses in the reuse and circular economy space.

A major highlight was having from present the results from our first-week reusable cup trial together at — showcasing the real-world impact and scalability of reuse systems within major hospitality venues.

One thing became very clear — the reuse industry is no longer an idea for the future. The solutions, technology, infrastructure, and passionate companies already exist today.

The strength of the reuse movement across Australia is growing rapidly, with businesses ready to scale and help eliminate unnecessary single-use waste across events, stadiums, venues, airlines, and beyond.

Now all that’s left is for government to continue supporting, adapting, and backing the transition toward reuse at a national level.

The future is reusable. ♻️
