So I’ve created a simple 30-day September checklist with one small thing to do each day to help organise your life, finances and business books!!!

Nothing overwhelming.
Nothing complicated.
Just small, practical steps that can make a big difference over time.

Because your business finances do not usually become messy overnight and they do not need to be fixed overnight either.

Start with one thing.
Then the next.
Then the next.

It can be so easy to get caught in the cycle of doing more, taking on more, saying yes to more and convincing yourself that the hard season is just part of building something successful.

And sometimes, yes, business does require work, discipline and sacrifice.

But it should not ask you to disappear from your own life.

You are working to live, not living to work.

Your business should support your family, your wellbeing, your goals, your peace and the version of life you are trying to create.

That might mean reviewing your systems.
It might mean getting clearer with your numbers.
It might mean asking for support.
It might mean finally admitting that the way things are running is not sustainable anymore.

Success should not only look good from the outside.

It should feel liveable on the inside too. 🐝✨

Still using MYOB or QuickBooks and wondering whether Xero might be a better fit for your business?

Sometimes the issue is not that your accounting software is “wrong”, it is that your system no longer matches the way your business operates.

Xero can be a great option for small businesses wanting clearer visibility, easier bank reconciliation, invoicing, payroll, GST/BAS support and reporting in one cloud-based system.

But the setup matters.

If your chart of accounts, payroll settings, opening balances or reporting are not set up properly, you can carry confusion from one system into the next.

I see this happen a lot with business owners.

When you first start out, doing your own books might make complete sense. You’re learning, keeping costs low and figuring things out as you go.

But as your business grows, the pieces change.

There are more transactions.
More obligations.
More decisions.
More risk.
More pressure on your time.

Outgrowing the way you used to do things does not mean you did it wrong.

It means your business has moved into a new season, and the support around it may need to grow too.

Change comes with growth. And sometimes the next right step is letting someone else help bring the hive back into order. 🐝💛

Being fully booked does not always mean your business is financially strong.

Sometimes the calendar is full, the invoices are going out, the work is happening… but the profit is disappearing before you ever really see it.

That does not mean you are failing.

It usually means something needs reviewing: your pricing, your margins, your expenses, your cash flow, your tax planning or the systems behind the business.

A healthy business is not just busy.
A healthy business gives you clarity, capacity and enough breathing room to keep going sustainably.

I had a conversation with a client today about outsourcing payroll overseas, and they asked me how I felt about it.

My answer was honest: offshore support absolutely has its place. It is not something I personally use in my business model, because I choose to support women in business and local professionals where I can, but that does not mean it is wrong.

What I did say, though, is this:

Just because you delegate the task does not mean you delegate the responsibility.

Payroll, compliance, tax, super and reporting obligations still sit with the business. The governing bodies do not disappear because the work has been handed to someone else ❌

That is why having the right person in your corner matters.

My role is not just to “do the thing.” It is to help you understand what you are responsible for, where the risks are, and how to make decisions that protect your business.

I know this sounds very me, but I genuinely think about business change the same way I think about moving a plant.

You do not just rip something out of one environment and expect it to thrive instantly somewhere new.

You look at what it needs. You keep what still supports it. You make the transition feel safe enough to grow.

That is how I approach clients too.

Whether we are changing systems, cleaning up Xero, shifting payroll, reviewing processes or creating new structure, the goal is not to overwhelm you.

It is to help you move forward in a way that actually works for you.

I was so nervous going into this. It is funny how we can show up confidently in so many areas of life, but the second a camera is pointed at us, suddenly every little insecurity wants to join the room.

You really are your own harshest critic sometimes.

But this is exactly why I love the community of women I am surrounded by.

They made me feel comfortable, beautiful, unique and completely at ease, not because everything had to be perfect, but because they created a space where I could just be myself.

And that is something really special. 🐝

So here is your reminder: sometimes the right people do not just help you take better photos.

They help you see yourself a little more kindly.
