Empowering the next generation starts with early intervention.

Our Perth office recently had the privilege of hosting Jade Lewis, founder of the Yellow Ribbon Project, for an inspiring Lunch & Learn session.

Jade’s journey from a WA state athlete to overcoming addiction, earning a master’s degree in criminology, and spending more than 20 years driving justice reform, is a masterclass in resilience and turning lived experience into lasting social impact.

Over the past 12 months, AngloGold Ashanti Australia has partnered with the Yellow Ribbon Project to roll out a community-led prevention framework across the Goldfields. The impact so far:

• 23 presentations delivered across seven Kalgoorlie-Boulder schools.

• School co-designed sessions covering substance prevention, respectful relationships, mental health, resilience, and online safety.

• Community connection focused on sustainable, long-term capability building.

We are proud to support this important work in the Goldfields.

What an incredible morning volunteering at Foodbank WA for the Meal Makers Challenge!

While our team took home joint third place, the real win was the experience itself.

We were kept busy shopping, chopping, and cooking up a storm - all while gaining a deeper understanding of the daily realities faced by many Foodbank customers.

Our challenge was to feed a family of five for five days on a $20 per day budget and we pulled it off for just $14!

After shopping alongside customers in the Foodbank store, we used our limited budget and ingredients to create a menu featuring:
• Beef, coconut, and vegetable curry
• Chocolate Weet-Bix slice
• Cottage cheese flatbread
• Zesty creamy slaw
• Mint raita

Not only did this challenge strengthen our team bond, but it was a powerful, eye-opening reminder of the hardships many in our community face every day.

A big thank you to Foodbank WA for having us.

17 clubs. 17 grants. Countless lives touched on and off the court.

Through AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s Community Netball Grants, we’re proud to support grassroots netball clubs right across Perth - from the north to the south, east to west.

These targeted grants provide vital support where it matters most:
• Fresh uniforms & essential gear
• Travel & tournament support
• Breaking down financial barriers for players of all ages & abilities

A special shoutout to recipients like the Red Devils Netball Club, who are creating high-energy pathways for players with disability to thrive in sport!

Behind every great community is a network of volunteers, families, and local clubs bringing people together.

We’re proud to play a small part in keeping local sport vibrant, accessible, and empowering for women and girls across Western Australia.

Mining to empower people and advance societies - one game at a time.

What a fantastic week celebrating 50 Years of Deadly for National NAIDOC Week in Laverton!

At AngloGold Ashanti Australia, we were honoured to join the community celebrations alongside some of our incredible community partners.

Foodbank WA kicked things off at Laverton School with hands-on cooking workshops.

The students loved making healthy flatbreads, followed by delicious snacks like “Coco-Loco” choc balls and “Cheeselicious” dip for the NAIDOC disco!

Yellow Ribbon Project founder Jade Lewis facilitated the HER Community workshop, sharing her powerful story of strength, resilience, and recovery with local women.

While we had to head back to Perth before the final events, we loved hearing about the grand finale!

Local teens dressed to impress at the NAIDOC Ball thanks to outfit donations from Thread Together, and the Stephen Michael Foundation, kept the energy high with their Footy & Netball carnival.

A huge thank you to the Laverton community for having us and to our partner organisations for making a real impact in the region.

We're still living off the high of our final Tropicana Family Day of the year!

Bringing our families out to site is always a highlight, but wrapping up the season together was something special.

From showing the kids where the gold magic happens to sharing a meal with the team who makes Tropicana run, it was the ultimate send-oiff.

A massive thank you to everyone who made the day so memorable.

Eyes are now on October when our Sunrise Dam gold mine hosts their family days.

Stay tuned!

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is proud to have contributed to a milestone in Australian mining history: the creation of the world’s largest gold bar.

Unveiled last week at The Perth Mint, the extraordinary bar was crafted from 521.2 kilograms of 99.999% pure Australian-origin gold, officially setting a new Guinness World Record - shattering the previous 300 kg benchmark.

AngloGold Ashanti’s David Brown and Clair Brennan joined industry colleagues at the official unveiling to celebrate this extraordinary technical achievement, which represents one of the most complex metallurgical accomplishments in the Mint’s recent history.

The bar (with a finished weight of 508 kg) will be on permanent display in The Perth Mint’s exhibition alongside the iconic one-tonne gold coin.

Thank you to The Perth Mint team and all industry partners involved in bringing this vision to life.

Inspiring the next generation of women in resources!

The AGAA team had a fantastic time at the Inspiring Girls event last week at Optus Stadium, hosted by the The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia - CMEWA (CME).

Around 200 Year 10 and 11 students, along with 25-30 dedicated teachers from 19 schools across metropolitan and regional WA, gathered for a day packed with discovery, connection, and career insights.

Our very own Libby, Anna, and Kathryn were kept busy chatting with students about the vast world of gold mining and the resources sector. It was incredible to watch their eyes open to the sheer diversity of pathways available - whether through university degrees or hands-on apprenticeships and trades.

Thank you to the CME for hosting such an impactful event, and to all the bright students who stopped by our table!

What do elite netball and high-performing mining operations have in common? More than you would think.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting West Coast Fever players Ruth Aryang, Alice Teague-Neeld, Olivia Wilkinson, and Zoe Cransberg at our Perth office for a panel session with our team across WA.

Joined by Gold Industry Group CEO Kristy O’Reilly and members of the WCF high-performance team, the panel dived into what it really takes to perform under pressure - from mastering breathwork and visualisation on the court to building trust across diverse teams and bouncing back from major setbacks.

The session was a powerful reminder that whether you're on the court or on site, success comes down to communication, trust, and showing up consistently every day.

A big thank you to the West Coast Fever, Netball WA and the Gold Industry Group teams for stopping by and inspiring our team!

At AngloGold Ashanti, we believe that our purpose - mining to empower people and advance societies - extends far beyond our operations. It's about building bridges, sharing knowledge, and fostering global connections that uplift Indigenous communities.

Last week, the Tropicana gold mine was incredibly proud to welcome a delegation of Canadian First nations leaders as part of a landmark visit organised by the Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber (GABC) and our business partner Kai Rho Contracting.

Part of the British Columbia/Yukon Young Indigenous Leaders Exchange Pilot Program to the Indo-Pacific, this visit brought together Indigenous leaders, economic development professionals, cultural practitioners, and government officials from across British Columbia and the Yukon.

Showcasing our operations to these bright young minds reinforces our commitment to sustainable mining that empowers the next generation of global leaders.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the delegates, the Advisory Circle, and the GABC for including Tropicana on this incredible itinerary alongside Australia's major capital cities.

Together, we are proving that responsible mining can be a powerful catalyst for human connection and economic empowerment.

At AngloGold Ashanti Australia, we are proud to stand alongside our host communities, traditional owners and First Nations colleagues to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026.

This year holds an incredible milestone as we reflect on the national theme: “50 Years of Deadly”.

In Aboriginal culture, “deadly” means excellent, inspiring, and powerful - a perfect reflection of the enduring strength, resilience, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Here’s to 50 years of strength, pride, and cultural continuity. Still deadly. Always.
