If your gravel driveway keeps washing away every wet season, the problem usually runs deeper than the surface.

Most driveway erosion comes down to two things: poor subbase preparation and inadequate drainage. When the ground underneath has not been properly compacted and graded, water channels through the gravel and carries it away. Every property has a story. This one started with a farmer south of Armidale dealing with waterlogged paddocks every wet season - losing grazing land, damaging pasture and cutting off vehicle access across the property.

After a thorough site assessment to understand how water was moving across the land, a network of agricultural drainage trenches was planned and installed. Slotted agricultural pipe was laid in a clean gravel bed through the key water-flow paths, redirecting water safely away from the productive areas of the property.

The result: dry, workable paddocks, restored pasture and reliable access right through the wet season.
