BUSINESS EXCHANGE PILOT PROGRAM TAMWORTH

Knowledge Circle 4 with was an absolute highlight! πŸ’™

We gathered at the in Tamworth to yarn about government procurement and policy settings. from NSW Treasury shared practical insights on the Aboriginal Procurement Policy, Regional and SME Policy, and faster payment terms.

Our participants left with clearer pathways and a better understanding of how to navigate government procurement and influence policies that affect their businesses.

The rain came, but it didn't stop us. That's the energy we bring to this work.

"I really didn't want to come today because I find procurement boring, but I am so glad I came. Hollie was great and I learnt so much that I can take back and try to use in my business."

Big thanks to Hollie and NSW Treasury for showing up and sharing their knowledge. And huge thanks to β€”an Aboriginal-owned business that kept us fueled with a delicious breakfast.

Special thanks to and from UoN for the tour and making us feel so welcome. This is what partnership looks like.

Next up: Knowledge Circle 5 – Business Ecosystems Bootcamp on 19 May with and .

Something powerful happens when businesses learn together. 🌿

We're now into the heart of the Aboriginal Business Exchange Pilot, and what's unfolding is something really special.

Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal businesses. Sitting together. Sharing knowledge, sharing stories, building something real.

This program isn't just about business skills. It's about relationships that didn't exist before. It's about understanding that grows when we make space for it.

Funded by DPIRD and delivered right here in regional NSW, the Exchange is proving what we've always believed. that when we learn and grow together, everyone moves forward.

We'd love to share more of this journey with you. πŸ’™

Follow along as we spotlight participants, share session highlights, and celebrate every step of the way.

Funders don't fund ideas. They fund proof. πŸ“‹

After 30+ years writing winning grants, I can tell you most applications fall short on three things.

Need backed by evidence. Clear, measurable outcomes. A budget that says, "we're ready to go."

Get those three right, and you're already ahead of the pack.

Want to know what else funders are really looking for? Drop a comment or send me a message. Happy to yarn.

Thank you to Lyniece Keogh from Integr8y, and to the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development – Aboriginal Economic Development Team, for supporting this important work. And thank you to Business NSW - New England North West and Greg Layton from Chief Maker for the Future Leaders workshop that helped bring the learning into practical leadership conversations.

Rachael is looking forward to continuing the Knowledge Circles and seeing where this shared learning leads.

Yaama everyone! πŸ‘‹

We're thrilled to share an update from Knowledge Circle 2 of the Aboriginal Business Exchange Pilotβ€”held this week at Peel River with facilitator Josie.

Our cohort gathered for a powerful session on values alignment, mindset, and authentic leadership. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with every single participant rating the session 5/5.

Here's what our participants are saying:

✨ "Nobody else is me. Only I can do what I do, the way that I do it."

Participants walked away with practical tools for mindset resetting, strategies for values alignment, and deeper connections with their peers. This is exactly what the Aboriginal Business Exchange Pilot is designed to doβ€”bring people together to learn, grow, and support each other's leadership journeys.

The Aboriginal Business Exchange Pilot is delivered by Integr8y in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), fostering mutual understanding, collaboration and growth between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal businesses through cultural exchange, capacity building, business knowledge sharing, leadership development and networking opportunities.

Huge thanks to Josie Hofman Consulting, Sara Abberton, and all our amazing partners and participants making this journey possible.

Stay tuned for more updates from our Knowledge Circles. We're documenting this journey to show what authentic business collaboration looks like in regional NSW.

Knowledge Circle 1: Cultural Immersion Day – A Beautiful Beginning 🌿

Yaama everyone!

Today was special. We gathered at Boundary Rock for the first Knowledge Circle of the Business Exchange Pilot – a cultural immersion experience that brought Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal business leaders together.

Integr8y is working with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development's Aboriginal Economic Development Team to deliver the Business Exchange Pilot Program in Tamworth.

The energy was incredible. Participants arrived nervous, curious, and open. They left inspired, grateful, and connected.

Here's what they said:

πŸ’¬ "I really didn't know what to expect today. I was nervous, but I feel very privileged to be here and hear and learn about your culture. Thank you for inviting me and thank you for sharing your culture with me."

πŸ’¬ "I really wish this was all day."

This is the Business Exchange Pilot in action – fostering mutual understanding, collaboration, and growth through cultural exchange, capacity building, and genuine connection.

Knowledge Circles 2–6 are coming. If you're interested in joining future sessions or learning more about the program, get in touch. We'd love to have you. πŸ’™
