I have stopped shedding tears and I am back home after a busy week in Brisbane where I spent the week with Ellen Huempel who is the "New Me".

Now it is time to share some special things about Elle, who I have carefully chosen to continue to look after my clients as their coach. I hope that you trust my judgement.

I was first introduced to Elle when I was coaching and training with Harbour Day Spa some years ago. Elle held the position of manager of this highly successful business for 17 years.

Elle ticks all the boxes for me plus more. I will continue to support her in any way that I can in the future.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such wonderful clients and industry friends and so many special memories that I will treasure.

I hope you give Elle the support you gave me and make her feel welcome as the "New Me".

It is with a heavy heart that I share with the industry that I love, that I am RETIRING from coaching !!!

20 plus years of "Your Coach" has brought me so many wonderful memories, good times and the pleasure of working with wonderful clients.

When I first started, I had to explain what a business coach was, now it is considered a necessary business practice. I promise I will stay connected with the industry that I love so much and hopefully continue to see many of you at events. I will be passing my coaching business on to a very special person so watch this space.

If yes well done you are a great success. If you have gaps you have a way to go and only you can fill these gaps by offering and impressing each and every client. Work at it and success will come.

I am not a fan of offering discounts and price advantage deals, however this is the one day of the year you can do this without detracting from the quality your offer the other 364 days of the year.

Not the same as last year I hope. A good tip is to have coloured printed ribbon with a Merry Christmas message. You can personalise for your own salon. OfficeWorks is a good place to source this and you don’t have to buy in big quantities.

THIS WEEK START YOUR CHRISTMAS PLAN

Make an action list of everything you need to do. Look back at what has worked for you in previous years and be creative and think of what you can do that is fresh and new.

Coaching clients have received their Christmas kit to use which has more than 40 pages of ideas and templates.

Do you ever hear yourself say: Are you “JUST” having …….

When you add the word JUST, I think it immediately makes it less special.

Are you JUST having a brow wax today?
Are you JUST having your usual pedicure?

This is a habit that you may not even realise you are doing. Be aware and if you do this, work hard to make a change.

A good question to ask your team.

If they have no wet or dry styling products in the salon for one week could they blow dry and dress hair to look amazing?

The answer is “no it is not possible”

Second question to your team. How do your clients know what and how to use unless you help them to know exactly what product is right for them?

You need to be clever and make sure what you are promoting are your most popular services. Start to plan what you want to promote, don’t discount at this time of the year. Look at ways to value add. Yes there is a difference.

Also start to manage your website and make it all about Christmas.

The answer to this is always “yes please”. They drift off for all sorts of reasons so we love it when a new client comes through the door. The goal is always to please them but what can you offer them so they recognise the difference and want to keep coming back?
