On the road with Pete, Obi, Lando, Watson and the caravan
Human led. I work with business owners, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and regional communities to make AI less scary and a lot more practical. No "future of work" theatre. Just plain language and Monday morn

ing useful. Over the past few years I've delivered thousands of keynotes, workshops and webinars across Australia. Sometimes from a stage, sometimes from the caravan in the middle of nowhere with Pete and the fur kids nearby. Same message either way. AI does the rest. Looking for a speaker who lands the message and gets a few laughs along the way? Want AI explained in a way your team will actually use on Monday? After practical training that sticks past the workshop? Drop me a note: [email protected]

My latest book "AI & U: Reimagine Business" is available now. Or just stick around for the practical bits, and life on the road life. Human led.

these illustrated character boards are the latest thing taking over social media.

Naturally, I had to see what all the fuss was about.

What fascinated me wasn’t the artwork itself. It was the process.

With a little help from my AI assistant, Linus, we explored what makes up my personal brand, the work I do, the people I serve, the things I care about and even the travelling menagerie of Obi, Lando and Watson.

The result is more than an image.

It’s a visual snapshot of values, personality, business and life.

The interesting lesson for small business owners?

The quality of the output wasn’t determined by the AI.

It was determined by how clearly I could describe who I am, what I do and why it matters.

If you’d like to create your own version, here’s the prompt we used as a starting point:

Some news from the road.

Mum is in palliative care and I’m in Ballina to be with Dad.

Replies, posts and the usual rhythm will be slower over the coming days. The Western Queensland trip is being rescheduled to June. Anyone affected will hear from me directly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Well, that was a day.

39 small business owners walked into a room in Springfield yesterday. Most had used ChatGPT or Copilot or Claude. Most weren't sure they were doing it right.

By the end of the afternoon? Different room.

Heads full of ideas. Phones out taking photos of slides. Brand voice guides done. Privacy settings sorted. Real plans for what to try first thing Monday morning.

Pre-workshop word cloud had "overwhelmed" and "unsure" in it. Post-workshop one had "inspired" and "mind opening." Same humans. Three hours apart.

That's the whole game. Practical AI you can run in your business by Monday. Without the jargon. Without the overwhelm. Without anyone making you feel silly for asking the basic questions.

Massive thanks to Greater Springfield Chamber Of Commerce for putting it all together. And to every business owner who turned up ready to have a crack.

Now, workshop one of seven done. May is Queensland Small Business Month and the roadshow is rolling.

Here's where I'm headed next:
📍 Roma, 15 May
📍 Tambo, 17 May
📍 Barcaldine, 19 May
📍 Winton, 21 May
📍 Longreach, 23 May
📍 Chinchilla, 27 May

If you're a business owner in one of those towns, come along. If you know someone who is, tag them, drag them, shout them coffee on the way. Whatever it takes.

Worth showing up.
Human-led. AI-leveraged. The Augmented Workforce.

PS Big thanks to Neil Coupland for being a good sport about the boot-in-the-lap situation, and Leila Coupland for the OTT cuddles.
You're both legends.

You know that feeling when you open Canva to make something simple, and three hours later you're still nudging text boxes half a pixel to the left?

Yeah. That one.

Two weeks ago, that would have been my Tuesday.

Yesterday I opened Claude's new design feature for the first time. I asked it to turn a framework I use with boards into something visual. Twenty minutes later, this landed on my screen.

Not perfect. The feature is less than a week old. But it didn't matter. The thing I'd been carrying around in my head for months was suddenly a document I could actually send someone.

Here's what keeps blowing my mind. The tools that didn't exist last Tuesday are already changing how we work this Tuesday.

The rest of us aren't waiting for the perfect version. We're using what's good enough, today. And good enough keeps getting better every week.

This is the bit I keep saying to small business owners. You don't need to master every new tool that drops. You need to stay curious. Have a play. See what shaves twenty minutes off your Tuesday.

Human led. AI leveraged. The Augmented Workforce keeps moving whether we keep up or not.

What have you tried this week that didn't exist a month ago?

What a blur the last 4 days have been.

My first global speaker summit in Cairns.
Catching up with old speaker buddies and making new ones.

Spending time leaning into the craft and business of speaking.

Celebrating truly global conversations.

Taking moments to be humbled by achievements… some mine, many more of my friends.

Truly honoured to have been awarded my CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) accreditation and, humbled to be stepping into a national board role with Professional Speakers Australia

The icing on the cake, getting to speak on the main stage about AI to hundreds of my peers from 27 countries.

Today is the final day, with our gala dinner tonight.

Going to need a big sleep after this!
