They may be small, but fire ants can do a lot of harm. ππ‘
Fire ants are angry, tiny and dangerous imported pests. They not only impact our environment; they're also a health risk.
A bite from a fire ant is as painful as it's name, and potentially life threatening. It's important to know what to do if you or your family are bitten by one.
If the victim's breathing is normal and they don't have a history of insect allergies, start first aid. π
If the reaction is severe, the victim may experience symptoms such as:
π rapid onset of skin flushing (redness)
π general hives
π swelling of the face, eyes or throat
π chest pains
π nausea
π severe sweating
π breathing difficulties
π faintness.
β οΈ If you observe any of the above symptoms, seek urgent medical advice.
