Early start this morning for a 6.50am interview with ABC North Queensland. I spoke about AUS-SSC’s upcoming primary care clinic in Battambang Province, Cambodia that I am so grateful to be part of.

Looking forward to returning to Cambodia next month to provide primary health care and health education 🇰🇭

Townsville sisters and TUH employees, Katherine and Sarah, are going to Cambodia next month to volunteer with not-for-profit group AUS-SSC. 🏥🌏

They will be part of a team of doctors, nurses, and support staff who will be running free health clinics and providing essential health education in villages across the Battambang Province.

They'll even be leaving an ECG machine and training local healthcare workers on how to use it. 💪

These clinics are often the only healthcare many people in the province receive.

I’m excited to be putting the final touches on a Breast Self-Examination presentation for health professionals in Cambodia. Building the capacity and capability of local health and other professionals is key to sustainability of any health initiative.

Taking full advantage of being outside on a beautiful tropical North Queensland winter’s day to create Breast Self Examination education resources for women in Cambodia. These resources will be utilised in an upcoming primary health care clinic in September.
