On Lord Howe Island, researchers found a young mutton bird with 𝟳𝟳𝟴 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 in its stomach—𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. The plastic was so pervasive, the bird 𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙 when handled.
